Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be stored in cryogenic storage tanks in Biological Research Site-104. Access to SCP-XXXX requires authorization by one Clearance Level 3 personnel. Testing of SCP-XXXX on predatory insects requires authorization by three Clearance Level 3 personnel. Instances SCP-XXXX still exist in the wild, if a instance of SCP-XXXX is located task forces within the area are to be dispatched with flamethrowers and aerosolized disinfectants. Due to the nature of SCP-XXXX it may be required to destroy a significant amount of the surrounding area to ensure that SCP-XXXX will not spread, the amount of damage may require a cover story as to not arouse suspicion.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a viral contagion affecting all species of insects. When SCP-XXXX infects an insect (hereby referred to as SCP-XXXX-1) SCP-XXXX will cause SCP-XXXX-1 to have excessively increased growth, Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 have grown to and average of 1.5m in length though the largest recorded instance of SCP-XXXX-1 was approximately 2.7m in length. Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 show increased exoskeleton thickness and mutated features to facilitate feeding. SCP-XXXX facilitates respiration of SCP-XXXX-1 through unknown means and as results in the capability of SCP-XXXX-1 to grow to such sizes without complications. SCP-XXXX spreads through the blood and saliva of both insects and mammals, mammals are not affected by the contagion but can act as carriers for the virus. Due to this mosquitos are significantly more susceptible to SCP-XXXX.
Discovery Log: SCP-XXXX was recovered from ██████████ on 4/3/20██ by agent ███████ after reports of [REDACTED]. Predatory insects infected by SCP-XXXX are significantly more dangerous due to their predatory nature. Genome analysis of SCP-XXXX has shown similarities with [REDACTED] but shows significant alterations by unknown means.
Addendum XXXX-A: After Incident [REDACTED] testing with predatory or aggressive insects must be approved by three Clearance Level 3 Personnel.
