Item #: scp-xxxx (The cuddly Koala)
Item class: safe

scp-xxxx in It's containment cell.
special containment procedures: The entity if kept well fed with a plant based diet is content to
sit in it's containment cell and will not make any attempt to breach containment. The proposal to give it free reign is still pending. However if the entity exhibits any change from it's docile behaviour support staff are to be notified.
Description: The entity's containment cell is roughly 7m cubed and built out of concreate. It has a dirt floor and an array of artificial short and tall fauna. There are two semi-concealed entrances, one by the east wall and one by the west wall. The entity itself is an average sized male Koala. It's anomalous effect only triggers when it is hugging a sentient creature. When hugged the subject will experience extreme drowsiness and a overwhelming need to help other people. The entity will willingly let go if prompted by the subject or any other creature. The entity will actively seek out creatures to hug. Using standard Koala body language, staff were able to accurately deem that the entity's hugging is a show of compassion not aggression. When a class-D, officially diagnosed with depression, came into contact with the entity he described a feeling almost like being submerged in warm water come over him, then his mind was flooded with happy thoughts. The class-D was allowed 1 hour after first contact, to play with the entity before he was returned to his cell after intense psychiatric evaluation. doctors reported no adverse mental side effects. Subsequently entry into the entity's containment cell has been lowered to level 2 clearance.
