CONTAINMENT PROCEDURES UPDATED TO VERSION GAMMA AS OF INCIDENT XXXX-2B
SCP-XXXX UPDATED TO CLASS KETER
SCP-XXXX-1 is the only SCP currently held at Site [REDACTED]. SCP-XXXX-1 must be sealed inside a vault constructed entirely of Carbide Tungsten. This vault is to be placed inside a large anechoic chamber. All guards are required to wear noise-canceling earplugs until they have left the building. At least four guards must be monitoring chamber entrance at all times.
In the event of SCP-XXXX-1 escaping from containment, all personnel on Site [REDACTED] are to detonate the micro-sonic explosives in the earbuds. If SCP-XXXX-1 is unable to be located in three days (the amount of time it would take to leave Site [REDACTED] at SCP-XXXX-1’s maximum maintainable speed) Site [REDACTED] is to be locked down and quarantined until all infected have been contained (this includes all wildlife living on Site-[REDACTED]).
All instances of SCP-XXXX-2 are to be kept in a soundproofed room until brought out for testing. If any SCP-XXXX-2 has a request, they may email it to Dr. ███████ for consideration.
AS OF INCIDENT XXXX-3A CONTAINMENT PROCEDURES UPDATED TO VERSION GAMMA
SCP-XXXX-1 is currently the only SCP held at Site [REDACTED]. SCP-XXXX-1 must be sealed inside a vault constructed entirely of Carbide Tungsten. This vault will be placed inside an anechoic chamber. The outside of this chamber must be covered with speakers constantly producing a sound of at least 150 decibels. This chamber is to be sealed in another anechoic chamber. All personnel on Site [REDACTED] within building C-97-a-Epsilon must be wearing noise-cancelling earplugs at all times. Any personnel found not wearing earplugs will be tranquilized and quarantined immediately.
No living thing suffering from anacusis is to be allowed near SCP-XXXX-1.
All instances of SCP-XXXX-2 are to be kept in a soundproofed room until brought out for testing. If any SCP-XXXX-2 has a request, they may email it to Dr. ███████ for consideration.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a virus, incurable by current technology, with an infectivity rate of 100%. SCP-XXXX cannot be spread by air, water, bodily fluids, or genetically. Rather, SCP-XXXX is spread via sound-waves. Any sound wave produced by an entity infected with SCP-XXXX is dangerous. Controlled testing has shown that the sound waves do not necessarily have to be produced solely via the body. They can be produced via human on human sound (such as speaking or clapping), human on material sound (things like footsteps, banging pots and pans together, people breaking glass), or human influenced material on material sound (such as starting a car, firing a gun, or throwing a ball). However, it has been confirmed that sounds reproduced via recordings, microphones, and speakers are incapable of carrying the virus. As such, interviews with subjects infected with SCP-XXXX are now possible. See Interview log K-XXXX-1
Note: The sound waves produced by SCP-XXXX-1 and those infected with SCP-XXXX do not follow the observed laws of sound, as seen in incident XXXX-2A
Author note: These are undecided and may eventually die. Ignore the variations for now
There are three variations of SCP-XXXX
SCP-XXXX-A has no additional anomalous effects. It is the most common form of SCP-XXXX and occurs in approximately 70% of infections.
Those infected with SCP-XXXX-B exhibit all symptoms of SCP-XXXX-A, and additionally are incapable of hearing any outside sound. All sound traveling within 3.5 meters of a SCP-XXXX-B-2 instance is significantly muted. Sounds produced by those infected with SCP-XXXX are not affected. SCP-XXXX-B occurs in approximately 25% of infections.
Those infected with SCP-XXXX-C exhibit all symptoms of SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-XXXX-B, and additionally are incapable of producing any sound. No outside sounds are capable of traveling within 3 meters of those infected with SCP-XXXX-B. Sounds produced by those infected with SCP-XXXX are not affected. SCP-XXXX-C occurs in approximately 5% of infections.
As SCP-XXXX-C-2 are incapable of spreading SCP-XXXX, they do not require special containment.
Note: Permission to use SCP-XXXX-C-2 to help contain sound-based anomalys under consideration.
SCP-XXXX-1
SCP-XXXX-1 is a biomass, slightly larger than a basketball, which is the source of SCP-XXXX. It does not require food or drink, although it will eat when meat or vegetation is placed in its containment. It resembles a sphere of a gelatinous substance, of the colors black, green, brown, and purple, and has no sign of any internal organs or systems.
Upon any blooded creature entering its cell, SCP-XXXX-1 will, after a couple of seconds, begin emitting a high-pitched, screech in an attempt to infect it. This scream has been measured at a maximum volume of 147 decibels. Its method of producing this sound is still unknown. SCP-XXXX-1 can apparently detect when something has been infected and will cease the screaming soon after infection. SCP-XXXX-1 will immediately attack any and all living creatures suffering from anacusis. Despite having no muscles to speak of, it is extremely strong, as seen when [REDACTED] See test log K-XXXX-1.
SCP-XXXX-2 denotes any living thing infected directly by SCP-XXXX-1. There has not yet been any species of animal that has shown to be immune to SCP-XXXX-1 or its effects.
Author note: Ignore the following test log collapsibles, I am still debating if they shall stay, or if they don't add anything and just take up unnecessary space. Maybe make them like separate page test logs, that anyone can add to or something, I like those.
TEST LOG K-XXXX-1
TESTING ON SCP-XXXX-1
Noted discoveries only
K-XXXX-1-1
Procedure: A single D class personnel entered SCP-XXXX-1’s containment.
Results: SCP-XXXX-1 began screaming after about twelve seconds and reached a volume of fifty-two decibels over a period of seventeen seconds, infection was immediate. D-8624 terminated.
K-XXXX-1-3
Procedure: One D class personnel entered containment while another waited in the anechoic chamber for one minute before entering
Results: SCP-XXXX-1 maintained complete silence until the second person had entered its cell. Immediately after both D class personnel were within its “sight” it began screaming. It reached a volume of forty seven decibels over a period of nine seconds. Infection was immediate. Both D-9364 and D-12432 terminated.
K-XXXX-1-4
Procedure: One D class personnel entered the containment cell and fired eight (8) 9mm bullets into SCP-XXXX-1.
Results: Small pieces of SCP-XXXX-1 were blasted off of its main body. After about three seconds these small chunks liquidated and flowed back to its main body. Immediately after it had completely reformed it began to scream, reaching a volume of ninety eight decibels in less than four seconds. Infection was immediate. D-3442 terminated.
Addendum: We have so far been unable to locate the bullets.
K-XXXX-1-7
Procedure: Two D class personnel entered containment, both personnel had had their eardrums surgically removed two days previously.
Results: SCP-XXXX-1 began its screaming as usual. After about 110 decibels it began to shift around on the floor as if agitated. The biomass continued its screaming until it reached about 148 decibels, at which point it seemed incapable of screaming any louder. Upon reaching 148 decibels it shuddered violently and sprouted a large tendril, which immediately impaled D-2354 and began to [REDACTED].
K-XXXX-1-8
Procedure: One D class personnel entered containment with a type R-88V-7 flamethrower.
Results: SCP-XXXX-1 began screaming as usual, reaching a volume of sixty three decibels over a period of eight seconds. No notable effects observed until it reached approximately 1800°C, at which point the biomass began to glow slightly. It increased in brightness until it reached about 12 lumens.
Note: Does not appear to be affected by heat.
K-XXXX-1-12
Procedure: One D class personnel entered containment, D-6229 had been deaf since birth.
Results: Immediately upon entering, SCP-XXXX-1 gave a quick screech of 104 decibels. It then immediately launched itself at D-6229, engulfing his head and [REDACTED].
Addendum: As of ██-██-████ no more humans with anacusis are allowed into confinement.

Negative for spreading. Audio interviews with SCP-XXXX-2 now possible. |
Incident-XXXX-1A:
Incident-XXXX-2A: On █/██/████ SCP-XXXX-1 released a blast of sound measured at 400Db, the sound shattered Containment Unit Beta and infected all on-site personnel with SCP-XXXX.
Addendum 1: The sound produced by SCP-XXXX-1 is not restricted by the laws of physics. SCP-XXXX-1 is capable of producing sound that travels in a vacuum, and can exceed the normal limits without creating shockwaves. Research as to the method under consideration.
Addendum 2: The sound created by SCP-XXXX-1 does not have a falloff radius, and will continue to travel at the same volume until absorbed by an object. While SCP-XXXX-2 instances do not entirely posses this effect, any sound produced by a SCP-XXXX-2 instance takes much longer to fade then it would under normal circumstances.
