Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4623 is to be contained in a 1m x 1m x 1,5m super heavy duty, light-tight steel locker (the width of the walls of the locker must be at least 5cm). The locker is to be stored in Unit-48, a fully darkened Unit with reinforced concrete walls. 
 
During a containment breach all light sources within 2km of Unit-48 must be shut off immediately and MTF Theta-4 is to be tasked with recontainment of SCP-4623. 
All personnel responding to a breach near/of Unit-48 must be equipped with a set of specially dimmed night vision goggles. 
 
The object does not require any maintenance a normal Bonsai would therefore most access to SCP-4623 has been strictly prohibited. 
The only allowed access to SCP-4623 is for inspection or repair of Unit-48 after the event of a breach. 
While Unit-48 is undergoing repairs SCP-4623 is to be temporarily moved to Unit-55. The moving processes is to be strictly monitored by MTF Theta-4. 
 
 
Description: SCP-4623 appears to be an Acer Buergerianum Dai Bonsai, but when exposed to light above the intensity of 0.002 lux it's growth speeds up by circa 10000%, meaning it can fill a 5m × 5m × 5m room with it's branches in under 10 seconds. 
 
Because of it's immense growth speed the branches of SCP-4623 are able to smash through steel thinner than 3cm , and eventually crack non-reinforced concrete walls. 
 
The growth speed rises exponentially with the light intensity, meaning that exposure of the object to direct sunlight would mean the total coverage of the entire planet within just a few minutes. 
 
Branches and leaves of SCP-4623 which have been cut off of the object no longer posses the abilities of SCP-4623. Therefore cut off branches and leaves of SCP-4623 may be disposed of via burning. 
 
 
 
Addendum 1: SCP-4623 was discovered by foundation staff on 12/02/201█ in the town of  ████████, inside  the basement of an abandoned warehouse beloning to ████ inc. 
The basement was found to be completely filled with the branches of SCP-4623. 
The object was able to be contained by MTF Theta-4 within 2 hours, but only after the occurrence of incident E4623-1, which caused ██ casualties. 
 
Addendum 2: Field Agent Chris was tasked with interviewing the owners of ████ inc. about the warehouse and it's contents. The owners had abandoned the warehouse over 8 years ago and had  no knowledge of any activity at the warehouse since. According to Mr. K████, one of the owners of ████ inc., the warehouse was originally used for storing vehicle parts. 
 
Addendum 3: All research of SCP-4623 has been suspended for an undetermined amount of time, this decision was made by the 05 Council after incident  E4623-2 which caused ██ casualties.
