It has come to my attention that SCP-xxxx has become somewhat of a celebrity item and with the rumors that are being spread around I've no option left but to put some of these to rest. Yes SCP-xxxx was once considered a safe item. Yes it does hold the ability to make you smarter. But just because an item is marked as safe doesn't mean it isn't extremely dangerous. The end does not justify the means. You do not want to mutilate yourself or someone else just to raise yourself a few IQ points. We misunderstood the scope of this items allure which caused the deaths of ██ personnel and ██ D-class personnel before we were able to stop the effects of Event Jericho.

I know there have been personnel sneaking into the records to read up on SCP-xxxx, and it stops now. Anyone logging into the file is identified in the system and we will know. Anyone doing so without clearance I will personally kick you to D-class and throw you in the darkest hole i can find. If you're that desperate to test out an SCPs abilities I will grant your wish. This stops now. Anyone who thinks they cannot stay away has my permission to apply for a transfer without getting a mark on your file. Everyone's safety is my main concern here.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-xxxx is currently stored in storage room-██ inside a 3.5x3.5x3.5m standard foundation metal alloy container and locked using standard foundation procedures in Site-43.

SCP-xxxx is stored inside a 3.5x3.5x3.5 standard metal alloy container. The outside of the container must be lined on all sides top and bottom with standard mercury glass mirrors with the reflective side pointed towards SCP-xxxx. This must then be put inside another metal alloy container to preserve the safety of the mirrors from any outside interaction. The entire containment module is to be stored in high security storage locker-█. All parts of the containment container are to be inspected on a weekly basis for any observed damage and if necessary to be repaired or replaced immediately. Additionally the chamber must be cleaned out of any carbon matter by a strong willed Class 3 or higher personnel only after said personnel have taken a half dose of class H amnestics. Providing the personnel does not physically touch or look at SCP-xxxx short stays within the area of effect will result in no incident. Access is only to be granted with the permission of the current Site-43 Director.

Any personnel showing atypical interest in SCP-xxxx are to be reported and detained, forcefully if necessary. If seen to be affected by SCP-xxxx anomalous effects after interrogation the affected personnel will be demoted to E class. E class amnestics are to be be administered and the subject to be placed into a standard human containment cell and observed for a period of 2 weeks. If no atypical behavior is observed the subject will be reinstated to their previous rank and no mark will be placed against their file.

All recorded videos or photos of SCP-xxxx must be destroyed as soon as possible.

Description: SCP-xxxx is a pocket watch measuring a diameter of 3.14159cm, atypical from standard mass produced sizing of pocket watches of any time period. There is a single impact point in the center of the glass watch face, branching off into a series of cracks encompassing the rest of the glass. The protective face cover appears to have been removed or destroyed. The time is stuck on 3:14, however a ticking noise every one second can be heard coming from SCP-xxxx despite the seconds hand being visibly immobile.

Opening the watch to observe the internal components shows SCP-xxxx to be completely ordinary excluding the material the components are made from, is in perfect working condition with no damage or wear to any parts and the object appears to be in an active state despite there being no observed power source. The object is capable of taking damage and can be destroyed, however after three minutes and eight seconds SCP-xxxx will fully integrate all parts back within itself. Any parts or materials that SCP-xxxx cannot reintegrate, due to being too far away from the central mass of SCP-xxxx, too damaged or an object placed between them to prevent reintegration are regenerated by an unknown means. Any materials not attached to SCP-xxxx once reintegration/regeneration is complete will disintegrate into a harmless carbon matter.

**Researcher ████ Note:**

An attempt to repair and replace the glass has been successful but will then regenerate to its original cracked form. With all the above points in consideration it’s currently believed SCP-xxxx manifested or had its anomalous properties bestowed onto it after it was initially broken and was not made with the intention of having anomalous properties.

SCP-xxxx was recovered and transported to Site-43 by Agent-D and Agent-A after AI program “Pattern Equation Alpha-6” detected a string of copycat killers displaying abnormal behavior patterns to indicate the possible influence of an anomalous entity or object.

Any person that moves within 3.14m of SCP-xxxx feels a strong desire to pick up and hold SCP-xxxx. — Visually inspecting SCP-xxxx via photo or video gives the viewer “A deep sense of calm” and/or “An odd sensation of satisfaction”. There appears to be no harmful effects viewing SCP-xxxx via photo or video means.— Visually inspecting SCP-xxxx, via photo or video gives the viewer a sense of calm or satisfaction which over an extended period of time will take over the thoughts of the individual to where that is all the individual can think about and express a strong desire to seek SCP-xxxx out to physically obtain. Visually inspecting SCP-xxxx while within the range of effect dramatically increases a subjects desire to physically hold SCP-xxxx. After someone has SCP-xxxx physically on their person anyone else affected no longer feels any of the anomalous effects previously exhibited. Tests have shown people with narcissistic or domineering personality traits or any form of high mental tolerance and/or willpower are able to resist the desire to pick up SCP-xxxx for a much longer duration while within the SCP’s range of effect.

The longest duration resisted during testing has been 6 hours 7 minutes. The shortest being 24 seconds.

Once a subject has physically touched their bare skin to SCP-xxxx approximately 36 seconds the subject will begin to appear unfocused, dizzy and fall to the ground. After this event the test subject is to be known as SCP-xxxx-1 There appears to be no physical damage to SCP-xxxx-1 and they are able to pick themselves up after only a few seconds. SCP-xxxx-1s when holding SCP-xxxx claim to feel a small electrical charge going through their body at a constant rate stating it to be ‘peaceful’.

**Researcher ████ Note:**

Testing has been unsuccessful as while in SCP-xxxx-1s possession due to the subjects absolute refusal to allow anyone else or testing apparatus to be near SCP-xxxx, showing a disregard for their own and others safety to prevent anyone else from going near SCP-xxxx for fear that it will be taken from them. As SCP-xxxx-1 would need to be physically holding SCP-xxxx to perfrom this test to gain the desired parameters for the test it just has not been viable. Testing has however shown a small amount of current traveling through the watch when it is not in anyone's possession. How it does this is currently unknown however Dr. ███████ currently working on SCP-████ has noted the Similarities of the Crystalline Metal of both SCPs and its highly conductive amplification properties.

SCP-xxxx does not affect SCP-xxxx-1 right away after taking possession and the display of initial symptoms. After a varying amount of time SCP-xxxx-1 appears to go through 3 stages of psychological change. The time between stages varies between each SCP-xxxx-1 and between test phases. These stages are as follows:

**Stage one**

begins with SCP-xxxx-1 beginning to become irritable and depressed, Remaining almost stationary in a corner of the room for the entire duration of stage one. If there is something in the room that they deem as being “satisfying” they become hyper excitable claiming the sight makes them feel energetic and happy.

**Stage Two**

SCP-xxxx-1 starts to display symptoms of severe OCD, being unable to remain still and in 100% of cases unable to control their impulses up to the point of passing out due to exhaustion. If nothing was in the room at the time of stage 2 the subject would sit in the corner hold their head and cry.

**Stage Three**

SCP-xxxx-1 starts talking to themselves, the subject matter always about needing to attain perfection. Their goal seeming to get another person and hold them down and proceed to “fix” them. Always preferring the use of sharp instruments. If nothing is available SCP-xxxx-1 will use their own finger as the instruments to remove flesh from their captives body and affixing it on a different location, through the means of whatever is at hand, items being used such as a stapler, sewing needle and thread, the attempted use of a lighter to “melt” the flesh into place and on one occasion SCP-xxxx-1 ripping out their fingernails in slices with their teeth to use as a form of nail to hold the skin in place.. If there was no one else to “work” on SCP-xxxx-1 proceeded to “fix” themselves.

At this point if the subject not expired from the blood loss and trauma, they needed to be physically restrained and sedated. Forceful removal of SCP-xxxx during any stage the subject would no longer proceed to any further stage, but remained in the stage they were in before the removal of SCP-xxxx.

Once SCP-xxxx has been removed from the possession of SCP-xxxx-1 they are to be reclassified to SCP-xxxx-2

Only Class E amnestics have proven effective in helping remove any of these stages. All other amnestics while effective at removing the memories, did not remove the desires and impulses of the affected subjects. Class H amnestics have been partially effective, with SCP-xxxx-2s shocked and confused about their new behavior and impulses, but have shown to be able to resist them for a time, eventually reverting back to the last stage of when SCP-xxxx was in their possession. This behavior has been seen as detrimental and dangerous and SCP-xxxx-2 was then administered class E amnestics. Class E amnestics have allowed the subjects while in a fugue state under Hypnotic Directed Interviews to reveal information unable to be obtained at any other junction. Subjects interviewed displayed much higher than average mathematical skills and knowledge specifically regarding Pi, being able to recite it up to 100 digits and claiming it to be the “Language of the universe” and the “answer”. The answer to what however they were unable to specify.

Subjects after administering of class E amnestics while conscious still displayed higher than average mathematical skills, but did not speak of Pi, Universal language or the answer. The knowledge of them seeming to remain in the subconscious. Subjects still possessed very minor OCD tendencies, but due to the unique effects of the Class E amnestics they did not acknowledge or question their sudden personality changes. Brain scans have revealed a major increase of brain activity and new neural pathways having being opened atypical from the average non anomalous human brain.

Addendum 1: If SCP-xxxx is left without being possessed by someone for a seemingly random amount of time, the area of effect enlarges at an exponentially growing rate, affecting all non-anomalous humans within the new radius automatically converting all it touches into an instance of SCP-xxxx-1. This continues until anyone is able to physically possess SCP-xxxx in where all instances of SCP-xxxx-1 halt to remain at the Stage they were in as if SCP-xxxx had been physically removed from their possession. This is now known as SCP-xxxx Event Jericho.

Addendum 2: After Incident xxxx-1J an instance of SCP-xxxx-1 now known as SCP-xxxx-3 was found to be cowering in a women's bathroom sink located on Floor 9. SCP-xxx-3 was only in stage one and was displaying severe paranoia speaking of an insatiable desire that was not her own within her mind. Instead of displaying the usual desire to obtain and keep SCP-xxxx she displayed an innate fear of what would happen if she went near it describing SCP-xxxx as a voice of ‘evil’ and "That we cannot give into the temptation of attaining perfection as she is a liar." The only time the voices were at their quietest is when she was against a standard mercury glass mirror and was the reason she was sitting in a sink as it was the closest she could comfortably get to the mirror. This has been the only instance of SCP-xxxx-3 to be found so far and testing has been prohibited by Site Director citing ethical concerns as Amnestics failed to remove this behavior and resulting in SCP-xxxx-3s suicide, stating in a letter left beside her body that she believed that the only effective method of stopping the voices was to end her own life.

Addendum 3: Testing after Incident xxxx-1J-2 has determined that a standard glass mirror is capable of stopping and reflecting the anomalous effects back at SCP-xxxx causing it to damage itself at a constant rate where it will hit a critical point of destruction where SCP-xxxx explodes into many small pieces with enough force to break the mirrors. After which time SCP-xxxx will then repair itself after its usual time frame has elapsed. It will then attempt to repeat Event Alpha, causing it to destroy itself once again. Containment Procedures have been updated to reflect these findings.

Addendum 4 Testing of the metal and internal components reveal the object to be made out of a Crystalline Structured highly conductive metal, not currently known to naturally exist but almost identical to a byproduct material produced by SCP-(Redacted), with the only difference the additions of small amounts of tin, silver and iron present within its crystalline structure. It has also been noted both SCPs and their possible relation to Pi and how alot of their characteristics are roughly related to the number, the significance why thus far is unknown. Dr ██████ had brought forward a hypothesis that both SCPs may have originated from the same location or made by the same person. Possibly for a specific purpose relating to the number Pi. Dr ██████ also notes that AI program “Pattern Equation Alpha-6” is designed to use a system that is largely based around an algorithm using Pi as its core and this coincidence should not be ignored. A request to increase the operating power of AI program “Pattern Equation Alpha-6” has been requested to possibly locate more anomalous objects of this nature.
