Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be rolled up in a 2m x 2m x 2m glass box 10cm thick in storage on Sector-68 for research purposes. At no point are any foundation personnel to set foot on or over the SCP's crucifix insignia. Those interacting with the SCP are to have a clear record with the exception of Class D testing.
Description: SCP-XXXX has the appearance of a common household rug 20ft on all sides with the exception of a crucifix sewn into the center surrounded in a circle of words believed to be Latin, reading: Deus dedit tibi vitae vita est non auferetur. ("God has given you life, life that is not shall be taken away"). When subjects with more than 10 sins cross the crucifix, the rug has been reported to turn to lava, engulfing said subject or subjects and all items upon the rug. It then returns to a normal state after the sinner is either dead or 10 exact minuets have passed.
Discovery: SCP-XXXX was reported to the foundation after a priestess showed two civilians to the basement of a church in ████████ California, USA, trying to prove to the civilians that god is real. The Priestess then asked the civilians if they had a criminal record which civilian 2 responded "yes". The Priestess then asked Civilian 2 to cross over SCP-XXXX which then the rug turned to a pit of lava, engulfing Civilian 2. It was later indicated that civilian 1 reported the Priestess and rug to the police who contacted the foundation leading to the SCP's discovery. The priestess and Civilian 1 were immediately detained, questioned, administered amnesiacs and set free.
