—Item#: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedure: Vacuum sealed container constructed from reinforced titanium alloys; storage container has 2 layers just in case of a breach in the primary containment vault. Containment will be opened for a monthly feeding of human corpses via delivery drone. In the Case of SCP-XXXX escaping, MTF Beta-7 (Maz Hatters) are to be deployed immediately to re-contain SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX-1 will be terminated or contained for testing; by order of head researcher on SCP-XXXX Dr. ███████.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a book, measuring ██x██x██ cm, consisting of pages filled with letters in an unknown language; discovered in Germany, 1945. Allegedly, the book contains information about major events to come up a person's future (this information is currently being investigated by Dr. ███████). Once read, the events will play out exactly like the book has claimed them to happen. Testing has shown despite a person's best efforts these events will play out. The book will consume the user if any of the following happens: The events play out, User attempts to avoid the outcome via rewriting the section of the book, or the termination of one's life while in possession of the book.
According to Dr. ███████, subjects that held the book heard voices in their head upon touching the book. Any subject who has touched to the book, either directly or indirectly, will be referred to as SCP-XXXX-1. All SCP-XXXX-1 refer to SCP-XXXX as [REDACTED]. They also have referred to SCP-XXXX as the following: [REDACTED].
Attempts to Destroy the tome have been unsuccessful. If or when SCP-XXXX takes a significant amount of damage, it will deliberately of finding the closest human to transform into the new book. Estimated casualties from attempted termination; [Redacted], 5 of which consisted of foundation staff. The distance of this seems unlimited as the last attempt to destroy the book resulted in the same way. The distance was estimated to be around ███████ Km from the object and further attempts to terminate SCP-XXXX have ceased.
SCP-XXXX, despite being a book, does appear to have signs of life. When observed through ultrasound, SCP-XXXX appears to have a heartbeat around 80 BPM. The cause of this is unclear due to there being no detectable heart. During talks of termination around SCP-XXXX, its heartbeat skyrocketed from 80 BPM to 150 BPM. It is believed that SCP-XXXX is capable of understanding all known languages. The increase in the heartbeat is now believed to be a preparation of SCP-XXXX transforming the closest human into a new SCP-XXXX. When attempting an EEG on SCP-XXXX, there were no signs of brain activity, however, testing involving SCP-XXXX-1 suggests that there are 2 distinct brain waves within the subject when away from SCP-XXXX. However when in contact with SCP-XXXX, the subject appeared to only have 1 brainwave. Further testing is required.
While SCP-XXXX does not need to breathe, it does need to eat to maintain homeostasis. During an ███ hour test, researchers placed in a room, via delivery drone, multiple different food items for SCP-XXXX. The items are as follows: 1 head of lettuce, 1 watermelon, 1 wheel of cheddar cheese, 1 human corpse (D-4211), 1 rabbit corpse, and 1 live chicken with 2 weeks worth of feed. at the █ hour of the test, observers saw movement in the human corpse. at the ██ hour, all signs of the human corpse were gone. No other signs of movement were shown from any other object in the room after the full time had passed. Delivery drones were sent into SCP-XXXX containment vault for cleanup. This test was done multiple times using different items with a human corpse remaining as the same item every time; end results remained the same. The reason for this specific diet is unknown.
Site-██ incident report
Upon storing SCP-XXXX in its designated room, Dr. ███████ was seen talking with the site director,[REDACTED], minutes before alarms began going off at Site-██. The only survivors of the incident were Dr. ███████ and the site director; this may be due to both of them wearing hazmat suits. During the incident, approximately 40 personnel were killed; 18 of them exposed to SCP-XXXX. An estimated [REDACTED] SCPs had escaped containment during this time, including SCP-XXXX. MTF Beta-7(Maz Hatters) were deployed to find and recapture SCP-XXXX and terminate all SCP-XXXX-Y, while MTF Epsilon-11 (Nine-Tailed Fox) dealt with the other SCPs. They succeed with 0 casualties and put SCP-XXXX in a secure container. Investigation teams, MTF Eta-10 (See No Evil), found out an SCP-XXXX-1 created a chain reaction, allowing a large number of people to be exposed to SCP-XXXX though their skin cells. They found the exact person who became SCP-XXXX-1 was a guard named John Pearson who was found among the dead of Site-██.—
breakpoint for a separate idea.
Item#: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedure: Creature is contained in a small box with a vial of poison.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a small feline weighing 3.5 Kg, standing 24 cm tall, 42cm long, with a 25cm tail. The feline was discovered by Dr. Schrödinger in 1933, in ██████ Germany.
Dr. Schrödinger studied the feline for 2 years and witnessed the feline hit by a large vehicle, only to reappear 1 meter behind him.
SCP-XXXX became the subject (hope this is the proper use of the term) of Dr. Schrödinger's studies. These experiments involved killing SCP-XXXX in many different ways. The feline would leave a corpse every time only for the remains to disappear once someone stopped watching the body. Strange enough was the feline would always appear 1 meter behind Dr. Schrödinger, making him find out the "preference" of choosing it's owner. The owner of SCP-XXXX becomes SCP-XXXX-A.
Aside from the appearance of the feline behind the owner each time the feline expires, there are no obvious negative effects from this.
Upon Dr. Schrödinger's passing in 1961, SCP-XXXX was transported to Site-81 for further research.
According to Dr. Schrödinger's notes, the only successful containment for the creature was a small box with a vial of poison inside claiming, "The only way I could contain this paradoxical creature was forcing another paradox to happen."
