Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: The components of SCP-XXXX are to be contained in a standard XL Storage Room with the Curie Morse Code Translator on sight. The components of SCP-XXXX are not to be in close proximity unless approved for research purposes. In the event of Curie alteration inside the chamber, on-site personnel assigned to the SCP are to be alerted. Communication with SCP-XXXX is only allowed by approval of Class 3 personnel or higher. Assembly of SCP-XXXX must be approved by two or more members of the 05 Council.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a fossil of unknown origin and species. The fossil most closely resembles the extinct Megalania prisca, though anatomical differences suggest they are either different species or that the fossil is a heavily mutated specimen. The fossil is 20 meters in length and consists of unknown material. Dating of the fossil has shown inconsistent results. The fossil possesses the ability to alter

SCP IDEA 2

http://www.scp-wiki.net/forum/t-12100273/the-sapient-fossil

My idea for an SCP is a radioactive fossil that wishes to be resurrected and/or reassembled. The fossil is not made of traditional materials. The fossil has the ability to alter it's radioactive decay showing 0:s and 1:s on a Geiger counter, communicating in Morse code, it however does this rarely. When communicating the SCP mostly relays locations, it has however sometimes relayed words instead. Carbon dating, potassium-argon dating and other types of dating all show the fossil to be -136 years old. Different parts of the fossil have been found in different parts of the world, all except the first discovery being locations the SCP has relayed through Morse code. The fossil does not belong to any known species.

The fossil has multiple oddities, such include: A presumed eye socket, attached to the ribcage and facing inwards towards the organism. Bones that have been carved into identified and unidentified languages and symbols, the foundation are unable to harm the fossil with their own equipment and are unsure how the carvings exist. When a piece of the fossil is attached to the correct piece (such as attaching a claw to the hand), the pieces will become inseparable. The fossil was spotted in Zelgauska, Lithuania by civilians. They did so in 1976, and sent a letter to national archaeologists. The letter arrived in 2004.

The identified languages carved into the various bones are old Norse, Latin, Sanskrit and other older languages. The symbols identified are the christian cross, the Ouroboros and a scythe.
The foundation collect any pieces found in the places the fossil relays, they do not however attempt to reassemble it due to lack of knowledge of potential consequences.

I am planning to use the odd details about the fossil as a hook, such as how it is apparently -136 years old, how it is able to alter it's radioactive decay etc.
