Description: SCP-XXXX is a 148mm x 210mm (A5) coloured photograph of a balding male of unknown descent in what is estimated to be his mid forties, with no mouth or mouth features evident. The man in the photograph has no iris or pupils, all that remains is a whitesmoke colouring of where said eye features should be. The composition of the photograph is unknown and shows no sign of life or sentience.

The anomalous effect/phenomenon (named SCP-XXXX-01 respectively) that occurs from viewing SCP-XXXX through direct eye contact, video feed, or a photograph taken of SCP-XXXX, is that subjects describe a “presence” within the room for the first twenty-four (24) hours of exposure. Also, after forty-eight (48) to fifty (50) hours of exposure, when a subject speaks, a voice that is only heard by the subject will whisper to them to “be quiet” and “stop talking”. It is reported that the voices are present behind the subject at all times, never in front or to the sides. After each day of exposure to SCP-XXXX, the voices will gradually become louder, more forceful and will occur whenever the subjects attempts to speak. After ninety-six (96) to one hundred and two (102) hours of exposure subjects will reportedly feel like they are, “being watched” constantly, even when the subject is completely alone. After one hundred and sixty (160) to one hundred and sixty-eight (168) hours whenever subjects attempt communication, the voices scream and wail at the subject until they stop communicating verbally. Subjects report saying they wish to not speak because of the voices they hear, they say it’s unbearable and that they would, rather not speak.

Mental strain, loss of sanity and schizophrenic actions have been reported to affect subjects, all related to SCP-XXXX-01’s affects. All exposure incidents and tests that have occured from SCP-XXXX have all ended in SCP-XXXX-01 affecting the subject. Effects from SCP-XXXX-01 are deemed irreversible and have led to instances of suicide, chronic depression, loneliness and insanity.
