Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept isolated near Site-11, with a 40m radius exclusion zone around it.
Site-11 personnel are required to undergo genealogical DNA testing. Any staff found to have German ancestry are prohibited from entering the exclusion zone without permission from a researcher with Level 3 clearance or higher.
When interacting with SCP-XXXX, staff are to speak calmly and amicably, maintaining the facade that the year is 1905 and the German Empire is a European superpower, with Kaiser Wilhelm II as its leader.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a wrought-iron statue of former German chancellor Otto von Bismarck, approximately 2.2 meters in height. The statue depicts Bismarck wearing a period-appropriate military officer's uniform and carrying a cane. SCP-XXXX is elevated on a podium that reads "Otto von Bismarck; The Iron Chancellor" in German.
SCP-XXXX's anomalous effects occur when a person which it deems suitably German1 comes within 30 meters of SCP-XXXX. When this occurs, the object will animate and behave amicably. SCP-XXXX is fluent in several languages, the object usually speaks in German but is capable of understanding and speaking French, Russian, and English. If a German individual is in threat of physical harm within the 30m radius, SCP-XXXX will move to defend that person, often behaving violently towards the source of the threat. SCP-XXXX in its animated form has similar striking power to an average adult man.
SCP-XXXX was originally built as a monument to Bismarck in his home town of Schönhausen, Germany shortly after his death in 1898. It is unknown when the object began displaying anomalous properties. In 1949 the Foundation took the object into custody under the guise of restoring it after it became corroded due to acid rain. A recreation of SCP-XXXX was made and dedicated as the restored statue later that year.
Due to the nature of SCP-XXXX, it has a poor perception of the passage of time. SCP-XXXX believes the current year to be 1905. Any attempt to dissuade it from this notion is regarded as a joke. When SCP-XXXX is pushed on the subject, it has a tendency to become enraged and occasionally violent.
SCP-XXXX retains Bismarck's disdain for Kaiser Wilhelm II and has been known to plot against him. These schemes are sometimes violent in nature but are not considered to be a threat to on-site security. A condensed list of SCP-XXXX's plans can be seen in Addendum XXXX-1.
