Item #: SCP XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures:

Description: SCP-XXXX are specimens of a previously unknown plant species, currently called scientia arborus. Whilst all specimens of scientia arborus share nearly-identical DNA, their physical appearance has shown to be determined by where a specimen has manifested. Specimens of SCP-XXXX adapt to resemble many local species of plant life.

The primary anomalous property of SCP-XXXX is its higher frequency in and surrounding areas of human civilization that would contain large amounts of knowledge (Examples include libraries, government archives, and server farms), along with the residences of humans that would be considered “geniuses” (Having an IQ of above 120) The reason for this behavior is currently unknown. SCP-XXXX also displays abnormally fast growth, reaching full maturity in 2-6 hours.

A secondary anomalous effect of SCP-XXXX is it's ability to attract animals in class /reptilia/, which activates approximately 2 hours after reaching full maturity. These animals are non-anomalous. The attracted animals will proceed to ingest any instance of SCP-XXXX they can detect, stopping only when they are unconscious. Many carnivorous reptiles have died of malnutrition due to this effect.

Addendum A: Notable Manifestation Log

Instance Species Location
SCP-XXXX-1 Japanese Cherry (Prunis Serrulata) Instance manifested in Tokyo, Japan on 12/21/2012 inside the primary server farm of ████-██, a Japanese data firm. Agents were unable to intervene before custodial staff destroyed the instance. Despite minimal damage to the computers, a substantial amount of data was unrecoverable
SCP-XXXX-2 Key Lime (Citrus aurantifolia) Instance grew overnight in ██████ Public Library in ███████, Florida. Had infested the science-fiction, irreparably damaging many of the books before its secondary anomalous property activated.
SCP-XXXX-3 Eastern White Pine (Pinus strobus) Instance grew into the documental archives of the Indiana Statehouse on 03/02/2013. Was removed before its secondary anomalous property could take effect, and a "eco-terrorist" cover story was put up on local media.
SCP-XXXX-4 Kudzu (Pueraria montana var. lobata) Instance grew in a college dorm in ██████, Pennsylvania. SCP-XXXX-4 had grown over the residents in their sleep, causing a mass panic in the morning. Instance had somehow gotten into the motherboards of the students laptops, causing irreparable damage and data loss. Instance was removed without further instance.
SCP-XXXX-5 Tanzanian Baobab Tree (Adansonia Digitata) Instance had grown on the legally-recognized border of the Olduvai Gorge, within eyesight of Site-██. Instance had was inscribed with a symbol resembling an arrow pointing upward.
