SCP - 4079: Steward's Clock
Recovered at 2/16/1949
Contained at 2/28/1949
Breif description:
SCP - 4079 belonged to a steward of the british royal house during the second world war. It is a time manipulating grandfather size clock. The clock was recovered at the bottem of a transport ship that was sank by a nazi submarine and later was contaminated by a nuke that fell in the atlantic. The clock was recovered only 13 years after the sinking due to tech advances. Due to SCP - 4079's ability to manipulate time for anything that comes within 3-5 feet of it and the ability to manipulate any clocks and watches it is kept in a level 3 containment center with a soundproof barrier. When scientists first experimented they put a plant next to it. They quickly found out the effects the next day as the plant was dead. When a scientist named ######## was writing notes on it in its containment center his watch started to tighten and hurt his wrist. A guard had to cut the watch off as it was starting to cause a lot of pain to the scientist. SCP - 4079 has been ranked unsafe by the SCP foundation. When the clock is heavily distresssed it can create a loud sound which can disrupt everyone in the SCP center. SCP - 4079 understands a ton of morse code and the english language and is able to communicate efficiently when given a digital watch. Agent Mark F. Claims he was able to speak to the clock via Morse code when he put a digital watch next to SCP - 4079.
The following is a interview that happened between Agent Mark F. and SCP - 4079. It is translated from morse code to english.
Mark: Greetings 4079.
4079: Hello.
Mark: How do you manipulate time and manipulate other things?
4079: I was given my power through a nuclear warhead that landed near me during the cold war.
Mark: Why do you attack and manipulate other people when they come in here?
*4079 gets a bit distressed and starts making a creaking sound*
4079: I feel pain every day that nuclear warhead contaminated me. All my pain comes from the humans. I decide not to harm you as you seem to not want to experiment on me,etc.
Mark: That is quite a bad story. And also yes im not a SCP scientist.
4079: Can I start asking some questions now?
Mark: Sure. Ive asked all my questions
