Item#: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX poses no threat itself, neither does -1 or -2. While not in use by personnel, SCP-XXXX-1, -2 is to be kept in the maintenance workshop of Site ████. All staff are permitted to use SCP-XXXX-1. All instances of SCP-XXXX-1 being checked out and in are logged in a leather bound notebook kept alongside SCP-XXXX-2. Radio tracking devices have been placed on both -1 and -2 to prevent containment breach.
D Class personnel are not permitted access, as giving a tool belt with near infinite tools available would pose a security concern.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a set of matching tool belt and toolbox, supposedly made by ██████, a subsidiary of ███████ █████ █ ██████, Inc. The tool belt, designated SCP-XXXX-1, is made of somewhat undefinable materials, designated XXXX a, b, and c. Materials a, b, and c when subjected to materials testing are identified as polyester, cotton, and nylon respectively. All materials when undergoing stress testing prove indestructible by all means but fire. After 24 hours or after being placed within SCP-XXXX-2, SCP-XXXX-1 will be repaired, or a new version identical to the last if completely destroyed. See Addendum Log 1 for further material information.
The toolbox, designated SCP-XXXX-2, is an all steel toolbox with chipping yellow paint. On the front of said toolbox is ██████'s logo in large black lettering. The toolbox is approximately 50.8 cm long, 22.8 cm wide, and 25.4 cm tall. The lid of SCP-XXXX-2 is flat. All sides are 1.5 cm thick. One of the bottom corners is slightly rusted. No damage can be made to SCP-XXXX-2, though testing of this was limited, as SCP-XXXX was deemed extremely beneficial to Foundation staff by Dr. █████.
SCP-XXXX has the ability to instantaneously deliver tools to SCP-XXXX-1. The deliverance of the tool is triggered when subject thinks of the tool needed. SCP-XXXX-2 can store an infinite amount of tools within itself. Tools that are placed inside disappear once the lid is closed. All tools placed inside can be returned by turning the toolbox upside down. This anomaly only effects tools, any other objects or creatures placed inside of SCP-XXXX-2 remain visible and removable after closing and reopening the lid. See Addendum B for further testing.
SCP-XXXX-1 has displayed the ability to grow and shrink to fit on any personnel holding it. -1 itself is closer to a tool harness than a tool belt, but the manufacturing tag on it claims to be a belt.
Manufacturing information is extremely limited. On the information and washing tags of -1, item is listed as production number 0001. The same information is found stamped into the bottom of -2, along with manufacturers name. Washing directions for SCP-XXXX-1 insist that -1 should be placed within -2 for cleaning, as dry cleaning or machine washing could cause damage to -1.
Addendum A - Materials Testing
Note - Tests 1-23 are considered tedious to read, see [REDACTED SOURCE] for complete set of files.
Test Log 24
Condition: expose a 3 cm^2 space of SCP-XXXX-1 to an open flame
Result: First instance of damage. After 2 minutes exactly of exposure, fabric began to char.
Note - Test logs 25, 26, and 27 were repeats of test log 24, only changing exposed area.
Test Log 28
Condition: Discharging 1 round of 5.56 x 45mm from an M16A4 Platform into SCP-XXXX-1
Result: Round bounced off without harm.
Addendum Log 1
During a containment breach on Site ████, Janitor Avory ███████ was burned alive in a chemical waste fire. When recovery was attempted, both the corpse and SCP-XXXX-1 were completely destroyed. The following morning, maintenance staff found -1 hung up on a metal hanger above -2. After impromptu testing by researchers to confirm identical functionality, -1 was permitted to be used to assist in the restoration of Site ████.
Addendum B
- SCP-XXXX-2 Testing.
Test Log 1
Condition: Philips head screwdriver is placed within, lid promptly closed.
Result: Screwdriver gone, now accessible via -1.
Test Log 23
Condition: Dr.███████'s lunch was placed within, lid promptly closed.
Result: Lunch remained inside, taken out and returned to owner.
Note - Dr.███████ was upset that his lunch was used for testing without permission.
Test Log 39
Condition: A live, domesticated specimen of Rattus Norvegicus was placed within, lid promptly closed.
Result: Specimen remained inside.
Note - Biology of specimen remained identical.
Addendum Log 2
Occurrence: While working with -2 on desk, Janitor Issam ██████████████ knocked over -2 accidentally with broom handle while mopping. -2 landed upside down with lid open.
Result: Within 12 seconds, the room was flooded with 2.6 tons of tools contained within SCP-XXXX-2. All tools were logged and modern versions were placed back within -2.
