Item #: SCP-4xxx
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4xxx is to be stored in the storage warehouse of Site-██. Nobody else is to interfere with the sculptures during testing, except for the main subject. Otherwise, SCP-4xxx is to be bolted to the ground to avoid destruction via natural disasters.
Description: SCP-4xxx is a collection of (as of time of writing) 1,076 genderless humanoid sculptures currently located in the storage warehouse of Site-██. All of the sculptures depict a humanoid figure standing in various poses. Most importantly, the sculpture appear to have "ages" engraved on where a normal human's facial features would belong. The material used in SCP-4xxx is undeterminable, however, it has determined to be a mixture of clay and [REDACTED]. This gives the material the consistency of human flesh. SCP-4xxx's anomalous effect manifests when any damage to one of the sculptures is inflicted by any sentient humanoid figure (designated SCP-4xxx-1 for clarity).
5 to 30 seconds after said damage was dealt to the sculpture, SCP-4xxx's anomalous effect activates. The "age" on the sculpture begins to glow a dim violet, as SCP-4xxx-1 retroactively receives an injury exactly like or similar to the damage dealt to the sculpture by SCP-4xxx-1. The damage appears to correspond to the age written on the sculpture's face. For instance, a 34-year old person damaging a sculpture with an "age" of 24 years results in the damage being retroactively inflicted 10 years prior to when the sculpture was damaged. Interestingly, other forces can affect SCP-4xxx. For example, applying radiation to the sculpture results in the same amount of radiation being inflicted back upon you. After injuring SCP-4xxx-1, SCP-4xxx then regenerates the damage it received.
SCP-4xxx was discovered after a mysterious death in Hamburg, Germany. The theatre originally housing SCP-4xxx was burned down by an unknown arsonist. After exiting the crime scene, the arsonist's skin rapidly begin to char and flake off. After delivering the burnt corpse to the hospital to be reexamined, the hospital examined the arsonist's records, only to find that it had died in a fire as an infant, when their mother accidentally left them in a fire. At that point, field agents implanted in Hamburg acquired the corpse and SCP-4xxx, originally thought to be the building, under the guise of rebuilding the theatre. After extensive testing, it was confirmed that SCP-4xxx were indeed the statues themselves. Testing began to determine the limits of SCP-4xxx's effects and is still ongoing.
Addendum: The origins of SCP-4xxx were tracked down, originally found to have been created by an artist named ████ ███████. ████'s diary was recovered at his childhood home in Amsterdam, in the Netherlands.
[Excerpt from page ██ of the diary]
June 24th, 1821
This is the best I can do for now. I will create more when I have the necessary supplies. As I am still very poor, I cannot buy more. This is a delicate gamble.

Diary, the sculptures are a success! They became popular overnight. Now, thousands of customers want one. I will go get some supplies.
June 31st, 1821
It has been long since we last met, Diary. I have spent day and night with my friends working on the sculptures for the people's growing demand for the sculpture. It is impossible how a product can become so popular.
July 2nd, 1821
I have noticed something strange. I accidentally tipped over the sculpture, breaking the knee. My knee now hurts as well. This must be the works of the sculpture! I must go investigate further.
July 3rd, 1821
Diary, I will now test the sculptures and their mysterious property of reciprocation. Wish me luck.
Blood splatters can be seen on the notebook.
It is believed at this point that ████ accidentally tipped the sculpture onto a sharp knife, which damaged the sculpture in the heart. Moments later, he suffered from a sharp piercing pain and died. Analysis of his corpse reveals a knife embedded into his ribcage.
