Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: All Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are to be contained within a Humanoid Area far from any coastline. If the instances of SCP-XXXX-1 breach containment they are to be tracked and re-contained as fast as possible. If the instances of SCP-XXXX-1 find any other instances of SCP-XXXX-1 that they have not already seen before or have not come from the same site all instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are to be terminated.

When attempting to contain instances of SCP-XXXX-1 it is advised that instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are surrounded and given the choice to die or to comply. The recommended ways of showing instances of SCP-XXXX these are:

  • Shooting any instances of SCP-XXXX-1 that try to flee
  • Showing them the vehicle they will be secured with and firing warning shots away from the vehicle

Do not under any circumstances shout commands at instances of SCP-XXXX-1 in a human language unless that instance of SCP-XXXX-1 has been confirmed to be able to understand that language as otherwise this only proven to yield the result of SCP-XXXX-1 acting violently towards the securing team.

Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 have similar anatomy to humans this has lead to the discovery of the following week points to aim for when firing at SCP-XXXX-1 is necessary:

  • The centre of the torso as this is likely to puncture their lungs and heart.
  • The head as this contains their brain which, when destroyed or damaged, will kill SCP-XXXX-1.

For the full anatomy of SCP-XXXX-1 see Addendum 1.

Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are to be contained within a concrete room. The room's ceiling is to be fitted with rows of adjustable UV lights and an occasional standard foundation LED light. The instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are to be given food and water twice a day at around 7:00 am and 7:00 pm. Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 seem to prefer to eat uncooked seafood.

Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are to be given some sort of entertainment due to their high intelligence level. The entertainment approved by site manager David ██████████ is to attempt to teach the instances of SCP-XXXX-1 how to speak a human language. If this is not done instances of SCP-XXXX-1 seem to be in a similar emotional state to humans when they express the emotion of boredom. This emotional state tends to lead to them having violent outbursts towards other instances of SCP-XXXX-1 or their containment chamber.

SCP-XXXX-1's containment chamber is to be monitored at all times. If any instances of SCP-XXXX-1 try to breach containment or damage surveillance or containment equipment the UV lights are to be turned on at an intensity level dependent on their previous actions. For a guide on intensity levels see Addendum 2.

No vents or similarly sized passageways are to be located near SCP-XXXX-1's containment chamber. This is present to stop instances of SCP-XXXX-1 travelling through them as they were shown to be easily able to do when they breached containment at Site ██.

Description: Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are humanoids approximately 2.5 to 3 metres in height. Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are usually found in groups of threes or fours and around coastlines. They only travel at night because it has been proven that UV rays have the potential to damage instance of SCP-XXXX-1's skin. Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 has a high intelligence level and ability to communicate with other instances of SCP-XXXX-1 in a language that has no known translation to a human language. This means instances of SCP-XXXX-1 coordinate their movements and have developed a system that allows instances of SCP-XXXX-1 to hunt for aquatic food in the sea while other instances of SCP-XXXX-1 keep watch and either attack, hide from or scare off any incoming threat.

The skin of SCP-XXXX-1 is made of thick black flesh with similar properties to human flesh. When tested it was proven that small, light and conventional weapons can penetrate SCP-XXXX-1's skin with varying levels of ease. Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 have three webbed fingers and a thumb on each hand and foot which end in a sharp point. Which when tested seems to be able to make crevices approximately 6mm deep in common materials such as bricks and concrete when enough force is applied. Instances SCP-XXXX-1 has a fin that runs the length of their back. This is used in helping instances of SCP-XXXX-1 chase kill aquatic and non-aquatic creatures when hunting. However, no gills are visible on instances SCP-XXXX-1 and so it is presumed that they need to return to the surface to breathe.

SCP-XXXX-1's face has similar features to humans except for their eyes. SCP-XXXX-1's eyes are set further back into their head and are solid black or dark navy. It is theorised by Dr ████████ that these eyes create a similar effect that night vision goggles do. For more information on this theory see Addendum 1

All instances of SCP-XXXX-2 have been small scale abandoned industrial buildings with no visible machinery or branding except for SCP-XXXX-3 and SCP-XXXX-4 The buildings seemed to have a basic layout. 6 rooms with corridors connecting each room. In all cases, the 4 corner rooms contained instances of SCP-XXXX-3, the centre room always contained SCP-XXXX-4 in a small office and the other rooms where a combination of barracks, armoury, canteen and toilets.

SCP-XXXX-3 is a structure that runs the length of a wall from the floor to the ceiling and is approximately 3.6 meters in depth. It has a morgue-like design. Upon opening one of the doors on the front face of SCP-XXXX-3 black substance is found to be coating the inside of SCP-XXXX-3. It has a similar consistency to the flesh of SCP-XXXX-1 and when touched by living creatures it coats the skin and has proven to be extremely difficult to remove. See Test-XXXX-3.

Discovery:

Addendum 1: SCP-XXXX-1-█ and SCP-XXXX-1-██ were used in the full anatomization in an attempt to find out the full extent of SCP-XXXX-1 similarity to humans. It was discovered that all organ systems of both SCP-XXXX-1 and humans are the same except for a slight difference of an average of 3cm in their size and length. The only major difference was that the lungs and heart of SCP-XXXX-1 were one singular organ and filled the entire top half of their torso except for bone structure, a biological pipe for food transport and major arteries and veins. SCP-XXXX-1's brain is a similar size to the average human brain but doesn't seem to have such a clear left and right divide. The muscle structure in both SCP-XXXX-1's arms and legs seemed to be generally greater than in a human and so it was deemed that the average raw strength of SCP-XXXX-1 is greater than a human's average raw strength.

The anatomization of SCP-XXXX-1's eyes has led to the discovery of three lenses within it. These lenses have been tested and seem to produce an image with a strong green tinge. It is presumed that each of the lenses acts like the three lenses in night vision goggles. The first as the photocathode the second as the microchannel and the last as the screen.

Further anatomization of SCP-XXXX-1 has been denied by site manager David ██████████.

Addendum 2: Using the UV index it has been determined that the following actions are to be met with the following UV index readings for approximately 3 seconds.

  • Attacking another instance of SCP-XXXX-1 - 0.0-2.9 index reading
  • Consistent doings of previous actions - 3.0-5.9 index reading
  • Attempting to damage containment equipment - 6.0-7.9 index reading
  • Attempting to attack a member of area staff - 8.0-10.9 index reading
  • Consistent doings of previous actions - 8.0-10.9 index reading
  • Attempting to breach containment - 11.0-13.9 index reading
  • Consistent attempts to breach containment - 14.0 - 20.0 index reading

An index reading of above 12.0 has been deemed fatal to instances of SCP-XXXX-1 and exposure to UV rays at this intensity for a time longer than 5 seconds will kill instances of SCP-XXXX-1. The 3 second time limit is only to be broken if instances of SCP-XXXX-1 continue to carry out the action after the 3 second time limit.

The site manager David ██████████ has deemed this tactic a simple way of teaching instances of SCP-XXXX-1 to comply with the foundation's containment procedures without having to resort to injuring or killing instances of SCP-XXXX-1.
