Item #: SCP-5421

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5421 units are to be stored separately in a standard containment cell, monitored by no fewer than five (5) armed security personnel on watch at any one point in time. Should a unit be compromised by outside agents or a containment breach, it is to be re obtained at any cost. Units are never allowed outside the facility, with the exception of use by Mobile Task Force teams.

Description: SCP-5421 appears to be a collection of 15 quadrupedal robots constructed in the early twenty-first century, retrofit with equipment of a higher technology level. The unit consists of
a metal frame that houses the internal machinery, a rotating sensory array on top, and four smooth carbon-fiber legs. Attached to the back of the unit is a short, silo-shaped device that emits a low hum and a bright blue glow from several horizontal vents.
SCP-5421 units show no signs of hostility, even when provoked, and will follow alongside any human that gestures to them, if they are not already following someone. An anomalous field of dim blue light surrounds 5421 in a sphere with a 3 meter diameter when it is powered on. Anything organic or otherwise that enters this sphere is put in a temporally suspended state. Until 5421 is powered off or the individual exits the sphere they cannot be injured, are unaffected by illness (anomalous or otherwise) and do not suffer from hunger, thirst or exhaustion. Upon leaving the field's effects however, any afflictions that were stopped by 5421 immediately apply.
Upon attempts by foundation personnel to disassemble 5421, the unit collapsed into a single point and vanished from our reality, despite being powered off. Once the personnel in question ceased attempts to alter 5421 it returned, leaving itself and the surrounding area unharmed.
Upon inspection of the file systems within 5421, it was found to be running on the Foundation's OS, with extensive data and protocols on other SCPs within the database. At the root of their file systems is a simple audio message from a distorted male voice saying "Make use of these and the others, the time of need is coming for you as it did to us."
It is believed that SCP-5421 was created by the Foundation in an alternate reality, along with [DATA EXPUNGED] for use in some unknown crisis. Further research into their purpose and related items in pending.
