Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Thaumiel

Threat Level: Blue

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is contained in a provisional site, nicknamed Site Megawatt, approximately 15 kilometers Northwest of Research Site 41, located outside of Hitchcock, Texas

SCP-XXXX is secured in a large room with glass furniture (Including a couch, table, chair, and bed) and a .5 x .5 x 3 meter wire cage, made of pure silver, placed against the wall opposite the door. The walls of the room, and any furnishings, temporary or permanent, are made of glass secured in place with high grade ceramic bolts with absolutely no metal contents. 3 centimeter diameter cables are drilled through the room in all eight corners of the room with the purpose of pulling electricity out of the air and wired underground to Research Site 41. The room is completely sealed except for one vent which is located in the ceiling with rubber strands woven over the opening. No metal objects, including video and audio surveillance, is permitted within five meters of the cell unless wrapped in several layers of non-conductive material.

Two guards (Equipped with Anti-Electrocurrent weaponry developed by [REDACTED]) are to always be stationed within five meters of the cell to provide verbal reports and confirmation of the creature’s position and actions when needed. These guards and any visiting personnel must wear specially made leather bio-suits (Developed by [REDACTED]) which should not be removed or unfastened within five meters of the cell. Before anyone enters the containment room the stationed guards are to request SCP-XXXX to move into the wire cage and remain there. Staff must enter and seal the door behind them quickly. SCP-XXXX is to remain in the cage whenever the door is being opened or closed. The creature may roam the room while the door is sealed but keeping distance from the creature is advised.

The guards are to be patient with SCP-XXXX in all situations: including requesting the creature’s return to it’s containment cell during any escape attempt. Though any escape attempt is unlikely. Any hostile action towards the creature will result in a verbal apology to SCP-XXXX. Refusing to do so will result in the offender’s termination.

The creature is to be fed ten kilograms of boneless meat daily, when requested by the creature. The origin of the meat is not important as long as it is fresh. Someone is to take the meat inside following previously mentioned entrance procedure.

The guards stationed are allowed, and encouraged, to talk to SCP-XXXX. It is recommended that anyone wishing to keep this post to be permanently assigned there, with the creature’s approval. Likewise: anyone asking to be moved to another assignment is to be moved immediately, with the creature’s approval. No staff should interrupt SCP-XXXX when it is conversing with someone else; especially if conversing with someone the creature is friendly towards, or if the interrupter is disliked by the creature. The researcher assigned should be liked by the creature and take the lead whenever SCP-XXXX is questioned or part of an experiment that may lead to the creature experiencing physical or mental stress.

Description: SCP-XXXX is made of pure electricity but is able to control the shape it takes; appearing to have a translucent body that electricity arcs inside of. It most commonly takes the form of a 2.4 meter tall humanoid with broad shoulders and thick limbs, with closer details impossible to make out. It has been documented changing shape limitlessly but defaults to it’s humanoid form.

The creature is able to speak latin, portuguese, and italian: preferring to speak a strange mixture of the languages. If asked it’ll attempt to stick to one language but will unknowingly return to the strange mixture when stressed. SCP-XXXX is completely cooperative with The Foundation but has been the cause of several incidents, making requests to work with the same people as he can trust them. When presented with someone for the first time SCP-XXXX can be withholding and quickly aggravated. It has talked about its fear of powerful beings “like him” harming the world both intentionally and unintentionally. SCP-XXXX willing stays in containment under the pretense that he is assisting in the capture and containment of other anomalies.

The creature responds to well known staff with a sense of (self-described) loyalty. The creature enjoys keeping up conversation and will often ask the guards personal questions to get to know them: this ranges from simple icebreakers to deeply philosophical questions. The creature is sentient and has a distinct personality but it is also susceptible to emotional breaks and is dangerous to all nearby individuals in such an instance. The creature loses control over it’s shape as it’s emotions flare and it will release arcs of electricity, reaching fatal levels, as a way to lash out. The creature enjoys keeping up conversation and it is easy to go off topic during interviewing or tests.

SCP-XXXX is able to create approximately 1.13 megawatts of electricity per second with minimal effort. The creature has stated that it is completely willing to cooperate with The Foundation.

Addendum XXXX.1: Encounters leading to containment

Communication log XXXX.CL.1

Subject: SCP-XXXX

Preface: Task Force Zeta-90 (“Rough Riders”) upon first sighting in Waco, Texas. Zeta-90 was sent to investigate a series of rapid lighting strikes that appeared to be originating from the ground and arcing skyward out of a stretch of bare hills. These strikes continued until Zeta-90 members got within approximately 40 meters. The following is typed out due to the audio being corrupted.

(LOG BEGIN)

Zeta-90 Commander: Checking in. We are within forty meters of presumed origin point, the strikes have stopped. Requesting aerial confirmation. Over.

Control: Please hold… We can confirm that the strikes have stopped. Approach cautiously. Over.

Zeta-90 Commander: Copy. Now twenty meters out and we have visual on a figure. It appears humanoid but- (Static)

Control: Commander, can you repeat? Over… Please repeat your previous observation. Over…

Zeta-90 Commander: (After 5 minutes of static) -Requesting medical assistance! Object fled and multiple injuries!

(LOG END)

Notes: 3 out of the 9 deployed Zeta-90 members injured through electrical burns upon any skin exposed to air or in contact with rubber that was in contact with the air, and near fatal heart attacks. It is safe to assume that the creature is electrical and lashed out against the three men who got within 10 meters of the creature. The heart attacks suffered were non-fatal due to affected hearts seizing versus regular rapid flexing; this suggests a discharge of electricity that is incomparable in power.

Communication log XXXX.CL.2

Subject: SCP-XXXX

Preface: 3 days after first contact, now equipped with specially ordered suits from local business [REDACTED], Zeta-90 units approach another instance of lightning strike rising from the ground: on private ranch land in Georgetown, Texas. Getting within 30 meters the lightning stopped and presumably the same figure waved to the units. Audio recorded below.

(LOG BEGIN)

Zeta-90 Commander: Keeping distance this time. Control, we will feed through all audio as we approach. Over.

Control: Copy, proceed with extreme caution. Over.

Zeta-90 Commander: (Towards the creature) Hey! Stop whatever you are doing and do not try to escape!… Did anyone understand what it said?

Zeta-90 Soldier: (Off mic but still audible) I heard some Portuguese sir!

Zeta-90 Commander: O que você está falando? Você fala português?… I asked if it speaks portuguese, control, and it responded yes.

Control: Copy, ask it to come peacefully. Avoid violence. Over.

Zeta-90 Commander: Venha pacificamente e não te machucaremos. Você vai cooperar?… It’s agreeing, control. Deploying aluminum mesh net. Boys! Net and lead! (The sound of arcing electricity and horses neighing)

Control: Sending you coordinates for an old provisional site. Over.

(LOG END)

Notes: An impromptu aluminum mesh net visabley slowed the creature down and it remarked that it was extremely uncomfortable during transit. Creature was taken to a single cell containment site placed in open terrain with an extension of Zeta-90 patrolling the surrounding area 24/7. We communicated with [REDACTED] to make the cell fully insulated. Zeta-90 sent off the suits from [REDACTED] to a research team to be improved; as minor amounts of electricity (Similar to static) was felt through them when close to the creature. [REDACTED] has since been seized for safety reasons and for the purpose of producing equipment for containment of SCP-XXXX and similar instances.

Addendum XXXX.2a: Initial Containment Interview

Interview Log XXXX.IL.A

Preface: The following is the initial interview on 04/19/2005: 5 days since first contact, 2 days since capture, 4 hours since cell refurbishing. The interviewer is Dr. Koller, who is fluent in French and Italian. The conversation was recorded on paper as recording devices malfunctioned in proximity of the creature. The following is also translated from the original language as closely as possible.

(LOG BEGIN)

Dr. Koller: Do you have a language preference?

SCP-XXXX: No, but thank you.

Dr. Koller: I am Doctor Koller. I will be in charge of your containment. Do you have a name?

SCP-XXXX: No. I have had no need for one. Though I may need one with all my new friends!

Dr. Koller: Friends?

SCP-XXXX: (Visibly excited) Yes! The Rough Riders have been friendly and kept me company while they made me my own room! I look forward to knowing why I am here! Mike and Tom didn’t tell me any details.

Dr. Koller: By Rough Riders I assume you mean the Zeta-90 men watching over you? Just let me make note of those names… Now, I am happy to hear this but you are being kept here indefinitely. This room is where you will remain until the foreseeable future.

SCP-XXXX: (Less excited) Oh that is not necessary. And I do apologise for making such a scene out in the open. I was hunting plastic flamingos until your men found me. I should probably return before I lose their trail!

Dr. Koller: Hunting what? And a trail?

SCP-XXXX: A trail of small holes in the ground, very easy to lose. (Slowly progressing into a mix of Latin, Portuguese, and Italian and getting louder) They are cruel creatures. They trick people without cruel intention but are quick to be provoked. They don’t have any morals! They hide in plain sight… I need to catch them!

Dr. Koller: Please! Calm down… I didn’t understand half of that. Please stick to a single language. For my sake.

SCP-XXXX: I-I am sorry doctor… My mind went somewhere dark… Please ask your questions…

Dr. Koller: You were hunting you said? For what purpose?

SCP-XXXX: I have a gift, and I wish to use it to protect humanity. I am not human but some deserve a peaceful life away from creatures like me.

Dr. Koller: That is… Very interesting! Noble, I would say. How do you plan to help?

SCP-XXXX: I can control my body so that I am hard to notice, and alternatively I can put out a lot of electricity and fry anything I touch.

Dr. Koller: Oh really? May I test that?

SCP-XXXX: If you think it safe…

(LOG END)

Notes: Following the interview Dr. Koller left and retrieved an industrial wattmeter rated up to 2 megawatts and placed it against SCP-XXXX. The dial fluctuated between 1.0 and 1.2 megawatts and nearly destroyed the meter in the process. SCP-XXXX was unofficially questioned on the location of the plastic flamingos and a detachment of Zeta-90 was dispatched and successfully found what is believed to be versions of SCP-1507. Dr. Koller sent a request to high command requesting the use of SCP-XXXX in powering facilities or being used in a special Task Force dealing with dangerous SCP’s. That letter, along with the official response, was redacted in it’s entirety. The idea for powering a facility using SCP-XXXX was approved 2 days later.

Addendum XXXX.2b: Terms of Containment Interview

Interview log XXXX.IL.B

Preface: Dr. Koller has received approval to recruit SCP-XXXX as an asset to power nearby Research Site 41, until any incident occurs. In which case SCP-XXXX will be relabeled as Euclid. Dr. Koller met with SCP-XXXX to discuss this. The following is translated from the original language as closely as possible.

(LOG BEGIN)

Dr. Koller: SCP-XXXX is the name The SCP Foundation has given you. As long as you remain in containment and avoid any incidents then we have an idea of how you can help us.

SCP-XXXX: SCP?

Dr. Koller: Secure. Contain. Protect.

SCP-XXXX: (Excited) Now that sounds like something I can get behind! But I don’t know if I’ll be okay in this tiny room forever… Am I allowed furniture? Can I pick my own guards? How will I be helping this foundation? I have so many questions doctor.

Dr. Koller: And I have answers. The room with remain fairly the same but we may make requests for furniture. You can’t pick your guards but you may request that certain guards stay here or are removed. You will, at this point, be used to power another facility nearby. This includes keeping the facility running, helping with certain tests, and possible the destruction of dangerous objects. Is that all satisfactory?

SCP-XXXX: I’ll need meat.

Dr. Koller: … That seems simple enough. Anything else?

SCP-XXXX: I may be able to help locate some more creatures like the flamingos…

Dr. Koller: Please, tell me everything you can.

[REMAINING TEXT UNAVAILABLE]

(LOG END)

Notes: The end of the log was redacted for safety reasons but SCP-XXXX was able to give information leading to instances of SCP-1507, SCP-1000, and SCP-1120; previously undetected. SCP-XXXX agreed to stay within his containment and, despite multiple emotional outbursts, has yet to cause any notable incidents. It was also asked about other instances of itself and admitted to hearing stories of a similar creature in Scandinavia. The information was passed on and investigations are in progress.
