Item # SCP 5010

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP 5010 is to be contained in a standard security locker. Access to SCP 5010 is restricted to level 2 personnel and above. Paper walls should be erected in front of testing room walls as to prevent site destruction. SCP 5010-1 should not be interrupted and so far has shown to be impervious to all forms of damage and sedation.

Description: SCP 5010 consists of two parts. SCP 5010 and SCP 5010-1
SCP 5010 is a 340ml can of spray paint with a featureless white label. The paint from the can is bright red that has been shown to be phosphorescent and will glow subtly in the dark.
The paint is non-toxic and causes no irritation to skin or any apparent effect from accidental consumption, though masks are still to be worn during testing.

If an X is drawn on an object with SCP 5010, an instance of SCP 5010-1 will manifest after a minute from an unobserved area and will proceed to chop the object in half with a large woodcutter’s axe. SCP 5010-1 resembles a male human dressed in a flannel shirt and blue jeans. SCP 5010-1 does not appear to have any facial features apart from a full ginger beard and thick eye brows.
The list of known items SCP 5010-1 is able to chop through include:

• Wooden tables
• Blocks of stone
• A desktop computer
• Reinforced steel doors
• Animals
• Humans
• Entire buildings

Additionally, when SCP 5010-1 is finished chopping through an object it will attempt to demanifest by finding an unobserved area and disappearing, if it is unable to find an unobserved area, it will stand in place and wait to be unobserved. Attempts to follow SCP 5010-1 have resulted in it travelling for at least 2 miles before stopping and waiting to be left alone.

Recovery log: SCP 5010 was recovered from [REDACTED], Ohio when authorities received a call for help at an abandoned wood cutting factory. According to police reports, 3 teenagers had called to report a “lumberjack” chopping through the walls of the factory. Later it was revealed that the teenagers had found the spraypaint a few days ago and had been using it to chop various objects in half around the factory.
Class A amnestics were administered to police force and related documents removed from record. Class B amnestics administered to teenagers. Factory was destroyed by explosives to hide evidence of SCP 5010’s use. Cover story about demolition of the old factory was circulated through the local news outlets.

Test logs:

Test log 1:

Materials: Wooden table, SCP 5010
Aim: Testing initial theory that an X made with the paint from SCP 5010 is able to cut an object in half.
Method: Dr. [blank] sprays an X onto the top of the table with SCP 5010.
Results: SCP 5010-1 manifested behind the doctor and pushed past him to chop the table in to two halves.

Test log 2:

Materials: 4ftx4ftx4ft cube of granite, SCP 5010
Aim: To observe how SCP 5010-1 manifests and also to test how SCP 5010-1 deals with harder
materials that are not usually damaged easily.
Method: The cube is marked with an X on its side. Recording equipment is set up to record manifestation of SCP 5010-1.
Results: 5 minutes pass before SCP 5010-1 enters the room followed by two security personnel who had tried to detain it. SCP 5010-1 spends the next 10 minutes chopping at the stone as security personnel are informed of its appearance.
Addendum: SCP 5010-1 appears to manifest as close as it can to the marked object, in this case it was the bathrooms of site-[REDACTED]. Additionally all security personnel should be informed of tests regarding SCP 5010 as to not cause future alarm.

Test log 3:

Materials: desktop computer, SCP 5010
Aim: to examine the precise the cut of SCP 5010-1’s axe is.
Method: An X is sprayed onto the front of the computer.
Results: SCP 5010-1 manifests behind Dr.[blank]. It then tips the computer onto its back and proceeds to split the computer similar to splitting a block of wood. Dr.[blank] reported that the sound of the two halfs hitting the floor was as to be expected from wood logs.
On examination of the computer it was found that many of the components had been cleanly cut and there was no visible sheering to any of the components or wires.
