Item #: SCP-4YYY

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedure: All websites containing SCP-4YYY-related content are to be blocked from public access. Cryptographers are necessary in order to decode and find future SCP-4YYY related content and block it from public access.

Description: SCP-4YYY is an Alternate Reality Game (ARG) comprised of a Labyrinth (SCP-4YYY-1) and an entity trapped within (SCP-4YYY-2). An ARG is a game comprised of codes and cryptograms, puzzles, and interactivity between decoders and puzzle-makers. SCP-4YYY differentiates from normal ARGs in that it has no apparent puzzle-maker. All puzzles uploaded by SCP-4YYY appear to be untraceable, and often go beyond human or technological capabilities.

01/01/2018: SCP-4YYY started as a large number of Caesar ciphers located on Twitter. Some of these ciphers were found to exceed the 280-character limit imposed upon "tweets." The decoded tweets can be found in Document-4YYY-1.

01/02/2018: A subreddit dedicated to decoding SCP-4YYY is created, naming the ARG "Labyrinth." Later that day, a Caesar cipher containing the link to a Youtube video titled "███████████" is posted.

01/03/2018: SCP-4YYY responds to comments on it's twitter in binary and morse code. It then generates it's own site, ███████.com, which is subsequently blocked from public view by the SCP Foundation when the anomalous properties of the site are ascertained. It was found that the site revealed no HTML source code when opened with the Inspect Element tool, and attempts to trace the site back to any source failed.

01/08/2018: SCP-4YYY directly contacts the Foundation Agent who originally reported SCP-4YYY by mailing a letter to her home address. This letter can be found in Document-4YYY-2.

01/12/2018: SCP-4YYY opens another site [███████████.org] in accordance to the letter sent to Agent █████'s home address. This site contains BASE-128 that could be arranged into multiple QR Codes, linking to a Wikipedia article on labyrinths, multiple images on Imgur, including an image of a cloaked woman.

01/20/2018: Despite Foundation attempts to block SCP-4YYY-related content, a group of ARG-players is still competing to solve SCP-4YYY. Containment Procedures updated to recognize this breach in containment. SCP-4YYY releases a distorted, static-y video on Youtube where the aforementioned cloaked woman speaks. She speaks of being trapped, of wandering the labyrinth. The cloaked woman is determined to most likely be SCP-4YYY-2.

01/25/2018: SCP-4YYY posts seven (7) nonograms measuring 16,384x16,384 in height and width to an Onion article.

02/21/2018: The final nonogram is solved and SCP-4YYY immediately posts an unknown cipher on all affected websites. The cipher consists of Japanese Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji, but lacks any representation to the language.

04/17/2018: The previous cipher is solved and SCP-4YYY sends 32gb flash drives in the mail to every person who had participated in solving SCP-4YYY. The flash drives are found to contain 5tb of encoded data. Personnel are dispatched to provide amnestics to all persons who received flash drives.

06/02/2018: The flash drives are decypted, and SCP-4YYY creates a website that, when viewed, generates a hologram in front of the monitor of a pyramid. This pyramid is referred to as a "Labyrinth Gate Key" and contains codes similar to the ones shown in the movie Contact (1997).

09/29/2018: The Labyrinth Gate Key is decrypted and one million one second files are uploaded to Youtube simultaneously. Additionally, a nuclear power plant in ███████, USA, is compromised by corruption to computer systems, as cryptograms had been placed inside vital code, resulting in fatal errors. At this point, due to the rapid escalation of the complexity and range of SCP-4YYY, SCP-4YYY has been reclassed as Keter.

10/13/2018: 53 previously unnoticed youtube videos are discovered unlisted and/or locked within SCP-4YYY's youtube account. These all feature long hallways, SCP-4YYY-2, and terrible video quality. Additionally, reddit users who had contributed to decryption of SCP-4YYY are found distributing odd code similar to that of SCP-4YYY. It is thought that SCP-4YYY hacked these accounts to continue posting content.

10/14/2018: SCP-4YYY manifests in a New York City billboard and displays another holographic pyramid along with high-pitched digital noise. The billboard is shut down and Foundation personnel dispatch to release widespread amnestics, using the cover of "collective hallucination."

01/07/2019: The second Labyrinth Gate Key is decrypted. SCP-4YYY responds by uploading 13 documents with thousands of pages encrypted in a complex cipher consisting of over two thousand separate characters. This cipher has yet to be solved.
