Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in the centre of a 5m X 5m containment chamber to ensure that the cycle is properly done. The walls of such containment chamber are to be made out of a substance that are of a density no less than 21.3g/cm cubed in order to neutralize the anomalous effects of SCP-XXXX. At the end of each cycle a new Amazon delivery box (cannot be a previously inhabited instance of SCP-XXXX) is to be placed at most 5m away from the current instance of SCP-XXXX so it will inhabit said new box. If there is not a suitable box placed within 5m then it will inhabit a new random box that meets the criteria within 50km of it's current location in which case a recovery squad will need to scout the range and recover the new instance before bringing it back to containment. Currently only personnel of level 2 or higher are permitted to interact or test with SCP-XXXX

Description: SCP-XXXX (which from here on out may be referred to as "the box") is a cardboard box that has the Amazon logo (a very large online shopping company) on it. Every 10-12 hours the box will suddenly teleport a item that is currently in the packaging stage of delivery at one of Amazon's locations into it. The effect at the Amazon location cannot be witnessed by anyone nor anything as the items chosen randomly for teleportation only disappear if nothing is currently looking at it or recording it.

The materialization process is possible to witness if one is at the receiving end. The item chosen must also be able to fit into the capacity of the box, no items that exceed the capacity of the box have been recorded in any of the tests performed.

The effects of the box seem to last only until exactly Noon of every Thursday before another empty box that meets the criteria becomes the new instance of SCP-XXXX. Due to the nature of the box there is no permanent way to contain it and if left unchecked could possibly become almost impossible to find it again.

The box can be damaged by normal means and has been tested on to see if it's destruction would end the anomalous effects altogether (see Addendum #A-4 for details on the experiment). When destroyed the anomalous effects transferred to another empty Amazon box within 50km. The cycle appeared to have not been interrupted as on the noon of the next Thursday after the new instance was re-contained it appeared to effect another box in the 50km radius thus breaching containment again as Dr. Lennings did not expect the cycle to remain the same and therefore did not put another suitable box within 5m of the current instance.

Special agents have been placed into Amazon in order to grant the foundation easier access to sites in order to track possible instances of SCP-XXXX if it is to breach containment. Only 4 people who are not working for the foundation within Amazon know of SCP-XXXX at this time, [REDACTED], [REDACTED], [REDACTED], [REDACTED]. They assist with the integration of special agents into the company and if any time they leave the company or are believed to tell others about the foundation's involvement with Amazon, they are to be captured and administered a Class-D amnestic. In which case a cover story will be provided and mental rehabilitation will commence so they don't pose a risk of exposing the foundation's work.

SCP-XXXX currently resides in Site - [REDACTED] and has remained there without breaching containment for approximately [REDACTED] years. A recent proposal from Dr. Wrice is in consideration about the automation of the containment for SCP-XXXX.

Addendum #A-1: Item was recovered at approximately 02:50 on December 22nd, [REDACTED], by MTF squad Tau-10 in Ontario, Canada. Reports from Amazon employees working at this specific location triggered the foundation to quickly respond, search and seize the location before administering Class-C amnestics to all who were working on the site in the past week to avoid the spread of rumors about SCP-XXXX. It was transported to Site - [REDACTED] where Dr. Lennings began testing on it’s anomalous effects.

Addendum #A-2: All tests on SCP-XXXX are to be appropriately logged in File 23-F-A.

File 23-F-A

Test Log #1: Test performed and oversaw by Dr. Lennings on December 23rd through December 24th, [REDACTED].

Subject: SCP-XXXX

Procedure: SCP-XXXX is to be inspected using a Infrared camera for thermal imaging.

Results: Every 10-12 hours SCP-XXXX was seen to have emitted an intense amount of infrared light that was able to travel through the walls of its current containment. Inspection of the box after each of these events showed an item had been teleported inside of its contents.

Analysis: Using infrared technology Dr. Lennings was able to calculate the approximate heat of the infrared energy released and quickly came up with a rough estimate as to how dense the walls of it’s containment chamber needed to be to nullify SCP-XXXX’s effects. This calculation came to approximately 20.8g/cm cubed.

Test Log #2: Test performed and oversaw by Dr. Lennings on December 26th, [REDACTED].

Subject: SCP-XXXX

Procedure: SCP-XXXX is to be encased in a Rhenium coated 5m X 5m containment chamber and monitored under Infrared camera to see if the energy released every 10-12 hours is contained within the chamber until it dissipates.

Results: The energy produced by SCP-XXXX was able to penetrate the Rhenium coated containment chamber, captured by infrared cameras outside of it’s containment.

Analysis: Upon recalculation it appears Dr. Lennings made a mistake in his initial calculation, a metal of a higher density will be tested on to see if it can contain the infrared energy.

Test Log #3: Test performed and oversaw by Dr. Lennings on December 27th, [REDACTED].

Subject: SCP-XXXX

Procedure: SCP-XXXX is to be encased in a Iridium coated 5m X 5m containment chamber and monitored under Infrared camera to see if the energy released every 10-12 hours is contained within the chamber until it dissipates.

Results: The energy produced by SCP-XXXX was not able to penetrate the Iridium coated containment chamber, instead it bounced around the containment chamber walls a few times before fading away. Inspection afterwards of SCP-XXXX confirms it was not able to teleport another object into its contents.

Analysis: The results of this test show that the anomalous effects of SCP-XXXX can be contained with relative ease and virtually no upkeep required.

Addendum #A-3: At 12:00 on December 29th, almost a week after the initial capture of SCP-XXXX the box no longer began to show any bursts of infrared energy, causing Dr. Lennings to initially assume that SCP-XXXX may have more to it than he had first thought. He quickly put in a request for MTF squad Tao-10 to go back to the same Amazon site that it was recovered from and see if anything was out of the ordinary. Around 3.5 hours later the request was granted and at 19:00 MTF Tao-10 left for the Amazon site, most of the task force was equipped with Infrared cameras to easier identify SCP-XXXX as the effect of it was to take place within less than two hours. At around 20:25 one member of the task force witnessed the energy on his infrared camera and was quick to alert the others who quickly captured it and brought it back to Site - [REDACTED] and Dr. Lennings.

Note: At around 12:00 the following Thursday, Dr. Lennings put a similar empty Amazon box beside SCP-XXXX to see if it could be coaxed into choosing a particular box which to almost all of the on site personnel actually worked. Further testing and containment breaches showed that the box could be safely placed within 5m of SCP-XXXX in order for it to not randomly choose another box within approximately 50km of its current location.

Addendum #A-4: Due to the nature of this experiment and the ensuing containment breaches caused by it, this test will not be logged under File 23 F-A.

Test Log #[REDACTED]: Test performed by Dr. Lennings on [REDACTED].

Subject: SCP-XXXX

Procedure: SCP-XXXX is to be burned to see if it’s anomalous effects can be permanently destroyed.

Results: SCP-XXXX burned at approximately the same speed as another box under the same conditions and showed at the next 10-12 hour energy burst to have been unable to emit any energy. MTF squad Tao-10 was positioned already at the Amazon site in order to check for an instance of SCP-XXXX which unfortunately was quickly found using infrared cameras.

Analysis: SCP-XXXX shows to be unable to be destroyed, the day and time that SCP-XXXX was approximately burned at was recorded as it is theorized its cycle should reset to this new time.

Notes Attached: The cycle of SCP-XXXX appears to have remained the same as it originally was, which suggests that there may be no possible way of changing the day or time that SCP-XXXX will switch boxes. This event caused another breach of containment as it was unexpected by all.

Addendum: #A-5: On March 22nd, [REDACTED]. A small unit of the Chaos Insurgency broke into Site [REDACTED] and were able to successfully steal 3 SCP's, one of which was SCP-XXXX. A total of 23 foundation staff were killed in the raid, one of whom was Dr. Lennings. On April 5th of the same year MTF squad Psi-4 were able to locate the Chaos storage base and recover 7 SCP subjects including the box, which had strangely not switched. This suggests the Chaos Insurgency knew of the SCP's effects and had successfully refreshed it's cycle once. Due to Dr. Lennings death, Dr. Wrice has been assigned to SCP-XXXX.
