Item #: SCP-XXXX
Classification: Safe
Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a 20m/20m/10m bunker located 1km south and 500m below Site-XXY. All bunker walls should be constructed of 10m thick carbon-steel reinforced concrete rated to handle 10 megatons of explosive force.
There is to be a singular entrance to the bunker guarded by autonomous drones as well as automated century turrets outfitted with special memetic filters on their camera inputs. These drones are to be programmed to terminate anything that attempts to enter SCP-XXXX's containment.
At the center of SCP-XXXX's bunker there is to be a 5m/5m/5m Steel cube with internal dimentions of 4m/4m/4m. This cube is to be specially made of aerated steel and suspended to a hight of 1m from the bunker floor via heavy steel cabling. There are to be 4 accessible entrances to this cube; one on each side.
Within this final cube SCP-XXXX is to be held 1m above the floor of the cube by a 4 pronged, ceiling mounted Steel claw with rounded points of contact constructed of a 75% copper, 25% gold alloy(Hereby called Alloy-XXXX). Exactly 5cm below SCP-XXXX there is to be a wire mesh made of 5mm thick rods of AlloyXXXX spaced exactly 3cm apart each. This mesh is to be held in place by hooks made of AlloyXXXX fastened to mounting brackets that are themselves fastened to the floor of the cube. There are to be 5 layers of identical meshes every 5cm beneath the first.
No less than five special sets of gloves are to be added in accessible places both inside and outside SCP-XXXX's containment cube. These gloves are to be made of thick durable rubber with special AlloyXXXX plates fused to them at all major contact points. There are to be no more than 7 plates with a total surface area of 10cm2 and exposed in such a way that they can be used to safely hold and transport SCP-XXXX.
Sensors are to be in place to monitor the position of SCP-XXXX, if the sensors detect a deviation of 0.1mm of SCP-XXXX from its original position or any form of unscripted entry into SCP-XXX's containment an alarm will sound on Site-XXX and alert sent to both the site Director and [REDACTED] followed by the initiation of Protocol-Zio.
SCP-XXXX's containment is to be audited once a week to ensure all basic systems in its containment are fully functional. Weapon systems are to be taken down and tested once every three months. Any components or systems seen to show signs of degradation are to be replaced immediately.
Description SCP-XXXX Is a Small Copper-gold alloy sphere which is made of thousands of perfectly interlocking miniature clockwork components ranging from 5cm to 0.1mm in length. SCP-XXXX's components appear to be small cogs, flywheels and rotors along with many other similar pieces.
SCP-XXXX Is Impervious to all forms of physical and thermal damage. SCP-XXXX is not to be subjected to any temporal or reality stress tests.
SCP-XXXX is only to be handled with specialized safety gloves. See containment procedures for specific details.

At the center of SCP-XXXX's bunker there is to be a 5m/5m/5m Steel cube with internal dimentions of 4m/4m/4m. This cube is to be specially made of aerated steel1 and suspended to a hight of 1m from the bunker floor via heavy steel cabling. There are to be 4 accessible entrances to this cube; one on each side.
Within this final cube SCP-XXXX is to be held 1m above the floor of the cube by a 4 pronged, ceiling mounted Steel claw with rounded points of contact constructed of a 75% copper, 25% gold alloy(Hereby called Alloy-XXXX2). Description:SCP-XXXX Is a Small Copper-gold alloy sphere which is made of thousands of perfectly interlocking miniature clockwork components ranging from 5cm to 0.1mm in length. SCP-XXXX's components appear to be small cogs, flywheels and rotors along with many other similar pieces.
SCP-XXXX Is Impervious to all forms of physical and thermal damage. SCP-XXXX is not to be subjected to any temporal or reality stress tests. SCP-XXXX will anomalously resist all attempts to remove it from earths gravity.
SCP-XXXX's anomalous properties appear when it physically touches any other object or person. Upon physical contact the external object at the point of contact will emit a bright yellow-white light and begin a process of matter reconstitution. During this process it becomes impossible to remove the object touching SCP-XXXX without severing the object from the point of contact. This process only occurs at the point of contact and has the effect of pulling other objects towards itself. Of note, the light given off in this process is a random blend of radiation from high intensity gamma rays all the way to long-band radio waves. No discernible patterns have been found from this radiation.
SCP-XXXX-2 is the reconstituted matter created after an object has come into contact with SCP-XXXX. Is a non-Newtonian semi-fluid that takes on a dark green, translucent appearance. This substance displays a tendency of adhering to SCP-XXXX, forming a membrane around the object. In large enough quantities SCP-XXXX-2 has been seen to "pour" off of SCP-XXXX though never leaving any fluid detached from the main mass.
SCP-XXXX-2's possesses a similar anomalous effect to SCP-XXXX. Objects that touch or enter SCP-XXXX-2 Emit a bright yellow-white light and is subsequently reconstituted into more SCP-XXXX-2. The primary difference between the effects of XXXX and XXXX-2 is apparent in the rate of reconstitution. Objects submersed in SCP-XXXX-2 are converted at a little less than half the rate as similar objects directly exposed to SCP-XXXX. This process likewise, will not occur with any object made of Alloy-XXXX.
SCP-XXXX-2 will slowly disappear at a uniform rate of roughly 1cm3/h. The substance appears to evaporate or sublimate. This process is delayed by exposing additional matter to either SCP-XXXX or SCP-XXXX-2. Detailed analysis of the air of its chamber after testing indicates no foreign contaminants. The matter lost by this process defies our current understanding of physics and the law of conservation of mass.
Any object made of AlloyXXXX that covers more than 20% of SCP-XXXX's surface will gain SCP-XXXX's properties for as long as it remains covering XXXX. The distance to which this effect applies is inconsistent, happening far more frequently at closer ranges. It is suspected the the more complete the coverage the further the effective range of this effect is increasing to infinite range at 100% coverage.
It is currently estimated that, given its rate of influence, should SCP-XXXX's containment fail It would become impossible to recover through conventional means after a period of 1 hour and 38 minutes and cause an XK-End of the World scenario within a further 35 hours.
SCP-XXXX is only to be handled with specialized safety gloves. See containment procedures for specific details. Requests to test SCP-XXXX are to be sent directly to the Director of Site-XXX for approval. All approved tests must have their results be forwarded directly to the O5 Council for review.

Object was found on ██/██/████ in a cabin located along the T███ S███ Mountain Range. The cabin was found by a Foundation satellite doing a routine scan and was reported as anomalous due to its sudden appearance.
The recovery operation revealed little about SCP-XXXX's origin. The cabin was shown to be decrepit and lacked evidence that anyone had ever taken up residence inside. SCP-XXXX was located on a a table in the center of the cabin, in the center of an apparatus visually similar to an Armillary Sphere.
The original capabilities of the object were discovered when Agent L███████ made physical contact with the object and subsequently lost his primary 4 fingers on his right hand before Agent H███, At Agent L███████'s request, amputated four of Agent L███████'s fingers. Both agents were screened and showed no long-term side effects of the incident with the exception of minor radiation exposure and were both released back to duty. Both were given Foundation Honors for their Quick thinking in the face of danger. Agent L███████ was also given an artificial appendage to replace the fingers he had lost.

Note from O5-2:
"While we have come to learn an incredible deal about this SCP I cannot stress enough how dangerous this object is and how vigilant we have to be in maintaining its containment. Every person you know and love is riding on us keeping this thing safe. please keep that in mind while performing maintenance on SCP-XXXX's Containment. We shouldn't have to remind you about what happened the last time the Foundation, for a lack of a better term, dropped the ball. "
