Special Containment Procedures: SCP-8464 is to be contained inside a 5m x 5m x 5m reinforced steel cube with an outer protective layer made out of titanium. Containment unit must be luminated by eight multi-LED lights measured to be around 1200 Lumens each. The cell is to be revised every 3 weeks, in order to spot any holes, cracks, or damage to the interior. In case of the cell being damaged, SCP-8464 will be temporarily moved to another containment unit currently located in Site-██, until the cell has been fully recovered. If a power outage ever occurs, an induction generator has been connected to the cell's power transmission cords to supply electricity. In a breach event, all the emergency lights will be immediately turned on as per protocol. All Foundation personnel in a 10km radius will be secured and carried to reside in highly luminated areas until recontainment has been secured. Access to SCP-8464 for testing purposes is only to be allowed with approval from Level 4 Clearance or above. Devices or other anomalies which corrupt and cause light sources to malfunction are strictly prohibited from being in close proximity with SCP-8464's containment unit.
Description: SCP-8464 is a tall, humanoid entity measured to be 2,8m in height. Arms and legs seem to be slightly out of proportion and abnormally large for its body structure. SCP-8464's torso appears to be wider near the neck, which becomes narrower in the way to its abdomen. Its jaws house several rows of sharp teeth. SCP-8464 seems to have very dark skin, covered with a layer of deep black fur. Samples of SCP-8464 shows that each strand of body hair SCP-8464 has is capable of reflecting only 0.05638% of the light hitting it. This makes SCP-8464 quite hard to track, specifically during night time or inside dark environments.
SCP-8464 normally remains docile, rarely acting aggressive under bright light. However; when the creature isn't being exposed to any visible light sources exceeding 5 Lumen, SCP-8464 will begin searching for living humans to feed on. Who it will choose as prey is seemingly random. SCP-8464 mostly prefers those who take the least effort to capture. When it has decided on its prey (Which will now be referred to as SCP-8464-1), SCP-8464 will steadily move without being seen by hiding behind anybody who views it. SCP-8464 is shown to have unbelievable camouflage capabilities. Upon grasping the right opportunity, SCP-8464 will quickly grab SCP-8464-1 and flee to an area which allows him to begin consumption without being noticed. After the hunting session is complete, the creature will enter a hibernation state for the next 87 hours. At this point, SCP-8464 will wake up as docile once again.
SCP-8464 has a human-like skeletal structure made out of an unidentified material. Surrounded by thin dark flesh, its bones seem to be indestructable, while outer tissue can be damaged with relatively high force. SCP-8464 appears to temporarily lose its camouflage abilities when muscle tissue has been vastly damaged, until all of it is regenerated. The amount of time this process takes mostly varies depending on the severity of the wound. On a still sample, SCP-8464's muscle tissue has been documented to regenerate at a speed of ██ per minute.
SCP-8464 is barely sapient, communicating with using basic sign language. While the creature doesn't need to necessarily eat anything to continue its biological functions, SCP-8464 will hunt several prey at a time when it isn't secured. SCP-8464 doesn't seem to hunt continously, rather in a period of every 2-4 weeks.
Discovery: SCP-8464 is believed to have been first discovered roaming the shore, by local townsfolk in ██████ at midnight. SCP-8464 became agitated upon this encounter, and quickly went into another hunting spree. Several cases of missing people have been reported. When The Foundation was made aware of the situation, investigation teams were dispatched to the area. Initial attempt at containment of SCP-8464 had failed due to the use of sedatives instead of bright light sources, however the second one was proven successful (See Incident-8464A).
Addendum-8464A: Testing proves that only visible light reduces SCP-8464's motion. Any wavelength outside the visible spectrum will not have an effect on the entity.
