A matured instance of SCP-7731.
Item #: SCP-7731
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-7731-1 to SCP-7731-5 must be contained inside a 3m x 3m x 3m airtight steel box with zinc lining in the interior. Zinc seems to be a useful element when it comes to temporarily neutralizing SCP-7731 for recontainment in case of a containment breach (See Addendum-7731B). No personel is allowed access to SCP-7731's cell without permission from Level 3 Clearance or above. Absolutely no organic plant-based materials are to be brought inside SCP-7731's cell.
Description: SCP-7731 are five single-propeller drones. The parts which make up SCP-7731 are the main bodies and flower-shaped propellers made out of painted plastic with 3 copper legs for landing support. SCP-7731 doesn't seem to require any combustion fuel to work (Although appears to mostly use onions as one), and is completely sentient. Tests conducted on an instance of SCP-7731 shows that the object cannot be controlled by any sorts of remote signals as a normal drone would.
SCP-7731 mostly poses a threat to plant-based life, but can also become hostile against animals when provoked. Upon a vegetable or fruit entering a close perimeter of SCP-7731, one of them will split it evenly into an amount of portions for each object to consume depending on how many instances of SCP-7731 are alerted. When SCP-7731 consumes an organic plant resource, it will stay neutral for a small period of time, then begin emitting a brown gaseous substance named UCT-095. This component doesn't affect humans at a low concentration (See Addendum-7731), but plant-life is severly harmed. When a plant is exposed to UCT-095, it will quickly change shape and begin to grow onions regardless of what species of plants they were a part of initially. This, will then quickly attract SCP-7731 for a harvest. Upon completion, some of these onions will be ingested for energy, while others will be used in order to create new instances of SCP-7731. During this strange reproduction process, a few of the drones will grab an onion to place it into a container inside their plastic bodies. The consumed onion will then be released after a few weeks of waiting as another instance of SCP-7731.
Matured drones appear to be incredibly resistant to damage, therefore termination is impossible. However, newborn instances of SCP-7731 seem to have a soft outer layer and can be terminated before maturing. SCP-7731 has been documented to take ██ days to mature. A process has been implemented in order to prevent SCP-7731's numbers from growing. This procedure has been named █████████-███.
Addendum-7731A: A test conducted on a D-Class subject, D-████, proves that humans are not immune to the UCT-095 compound. When exposed, the subject appeared to [DATA EXPUNGED] in less than a minute. After this phase, subject began to [DATA EXPUNGED] and was quickly neutralized by termination. Further testing involving human subjects has been discontinued.
Addendum-7731B: Research indicates that zinc slows down the motherboard functions of SCP-7731. Therefore, its containment cell has now been coated with a thick layer of zinc and zinc oxides.
