Zizoman123 (The Ink)

Item #: SCP-5156

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5156 must be tracked through radar at all times. In the event that SCP-5156 has made contact with SCP-5156-1, essential Foundation personnel, as well as a group of clearance level 3 personnel chosen by O5 Command are to be transferred to the SCPS Ockham. Following the immediate evacuation, Foundation activity on Earth is to cease, and Personnel remaining on earth will send out a message to all available governments that SCP-5156 has now begun approaching earth, and destruction and assimilation will follow. SCP-5156-1 is to be kept within a 0.75-meter x 0.75-meter airtight carbon fiber box, with a constant inflow of water vapor coming from a humidifier. Under no circumstances is the airtight seal allowed to be breached, nor is the flow of water vapor to be disrupted, under danger that a fragment of SCP-5156-1 will breach the containment area and escape through a vessel.

Description: SCP-5156 is a massive hivemind colony approximately ██,███ light-years in diameter, made up of what appears to be a collection of microscopic beings, coalescing to form a viscous black substance, non-newtonian in nature. On initial observation, it appears to be vaguely spherical. However, upon closer inspection, SCP-5156 appears to pulsate and reverberate, as if the entirety of SCP-5156 were rippling throughout. SCP-5156, as well as all known fragments of which, have the ability to mold itself into any shape, as well as being able to use force proportionate to its size at the given moment.

Whilst seemingly fluid, SCP-5156 shows dexterity having the ability to act like a malleable solid, as well as being able to create pseudopods to move around. SCP-5156 has the ability to harden and rigidify into a jagged, rock-like substance, capable of becoming incredibly sharp. The hardened form has a tensile strength of 2000 MPa and is capable of withstanding multiple 1.2E-grade explosives, yet has equally demonstrated to be incredibly lightweight. Talks to convert the material into body armor are ongoing as of ██,██,███.

According to what is known about SCP-5156, the hardened form is unable to move, and the individual beings that form its makeup do not show any signs of life once hardened. Further tests have also shown that SCP-5156 has the ability to envelop any object near it, given it can cover its surface area, and convert it into more of SCP-5156.

The prolonged recording of SCP-5156 showed the ejecting of smaller fragments, also made up of SCP-5156's material, seemingly on a trajectory to other planets from the main colony, not unlike SCP-5156-1. Once one of the "drones" had landed, satellite observation recorded rapid growth of the original mass, until it had a mass of approximately ██████ kg. Once reaching its preferred mass and surface area, SCP-5156's drones would begin to emit a series of acoustic waves toward the main colony. In the days that followed, the main colony would travel to the signal's origin through currently unknown methods and envelop the planet, converting it into more of the substance that makes up SCP-5156. From continued observation, it appears that the directions in which drones ejected from the main colony of SCP-5156 are random, as drones never make contact with planets in some cases.

The exact nature of the microscopic beings that make up SCP-5156 is unknown; however, they appear to be independently intelligent and possibly sentient, becoming more intelligent and perceptive as their collective numbers grow (see addendum 5156-2), due to them being able to communicate with more of their kind.

The microscopic entities that make up SCP-5156 seem to communicate through infrasonic waves, exchanging information gathered from the assimilation of various planets. As well as this, SCP-5156 is able to use said sound waves to cause damage and pain to lifeforms capable of hearing, such as intense headaches, deafness, and in some cases organ rupturing, with their intensity growing proportionate to their size.

SCP-5156's microscopic beings also have a parasitic ability used to infiltrate civilized societies like our own (see addendum 5156-1). When SCP-5156 takes over a certain species of lifeform, it is able to retain certain physical characteristics of that lifeform, such as a frog's capturing of prey or a human's use of appendages and intelligent speech. In continuation, any other fragment of SCP-5156 that is given the required information on a certain animal, whether through more of SCP-5156 or from visual stimulus, is also able to do so. When assimilating intelligent species, it can absorb a creature's brain to understand more complex social structures and behaviors (see addendum 5156-2).

SCP-5156's cellular makeup appears to be viral, in that it is able to move and complete its function without the need for energy. It lacks a cellular membrane, nucleus, or any organelle, but is instead seemingly purely made up of the black fluid that gives it its appearance. From this, it is assumed that the cellular structure found in SCP-5156-1 is purely by choice so that smaller amounts can be spread across a large surface area, and also so that its parasitic ability can be utilized. When in a cellular form, SCP-5156 is able to travel through the air and make its way into lifeforms, so that assimilation can be completed from inside the organism(See addendum 5156-1). Though SCP-5156 is able to envelop every object it encounters, it has been found that water with a concentration of 80 ppm or less shows acidic properties when coming into contact with SCP-5156.

SCP-5156-1 was obtained on ██/██/████ at ██:██, in a mountain range ██ miles east of ██████. The Foundation had been made aware of an asteroid making an impact within the range. and that several people who had gone to observe the asteroid had gone missing. When discovered, SCP-5156-1 was roughly ███ meters high and ███ meters wide. █ Foundation Personnel were instantly killed by SCP-5156-1, and 8 more injured. Heavy rains managed to kill off most of SCP-5156-1, and a small sample was obtained and brought to the nearest Containment site. Upon returning, information discovered about SCP-5156-1 led to the immediate termination of all involved members of the expedition to retrieve SCP-5156-1 by ████████.

Addendum:

WARNING. VIEWING OF THIS DOCUMENT IS TO BE SANCTIONED BY DR.███████. ANY UNAUTHORIZED OBSERVATION OF THE FOLLOWING IS GROUNDS FOR TERMINATION.

This is a log recording the actions of a singular cell of SCP-5156-1 (Subsequently named SCP-5156-2) as it enters and assimilates a member of D-Class personnel.

D-55896 is a 32-year-old white male in good health and no known medical conditions. Subject confined in an airtight standard containment room and provided with food mechanically on a regular basis through an airlock. A "molecule" of SCP-5156-1 (known as SCP-5156-2) Is inserted into the room with D-55896.

Week 1: Subject is docile and does not show any signs of assimilation.

Week 2: Subject complains of headaches and muscle pains, requests for food increase. Movements become slow and sluggish, speech is slurred and breathing is labored.

Week 3: Subject is calm, denies any previous complaints, continues to speak of hunger. Movements are humanlike but abnormally fluid. Subject seems devoid of any emotion.

Week 4: Subject's skin has begun to turn pale, movements are as if body structure has dissipated entirely. Speech remains complex, yet distorted.

Week 5: At ██:██ on ██/██/████, the subject's outward appearances were instantaneously absorbed into what is now known as SCP-5156-3, an instance of SCP-5156 with human features. Additional tests to follow.
