Item #: SCP-3679
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3679 is to be referred to as Michael and a he as part of his Containment Procedure (See Addendum 3679.1). SCP-3679 Michael is to be stored in a locked, soundproofed cell located at Site-64 with a steel, windowless door only accessible by Level 3 or higher Personnel. SCP-3679 Michael needs to be rested on a guitar stand of appropriate size, however, the stand should not be changed too frequently as change seems to distress SCP-3679 Michael. (See Addendum 3679.1) All Personnel of all levels in a 75m radius of the cell of SCP-3679 Michael must be aware of the occurrence of tests on SCP-3679 Michael when they take place, so they are able to utilise the noise cancelling headphones issued to them as part of SCP-3679's Michael's storage. In the unlikely event of a nearby member of staff not having their noise cancelling headphones, communal sets of said headphones are to be placed every 5 metres apart along the corridors of Site-64 to allow for easy access to anybody.
Level 2 or Higher Personnel is needed to authorise any tests or experiments performed on SCP-3679, this level of clearance is also required to enter SCP-3679's cell or to authorise anyone else's access to the object, as well as to authorise the movement of SCP-3679.
Level 3 or Higher Clearance is needed to authorise ANY kind of interaction with SCP-3679 Michael after the incident with SCP-1987-J on the date: ██/██/20██. (See Addendum 3679.2)
D-Class Personnel are to be used to examine SCP-3679 Michael when authorisation has been given from someone with a clearance of Level 3 or above. If possible, D-Class who are diagnosed psychopaths or Sociopaths are to be occasionally used to test the effects of SCP-3679 Michael due to their ability to counteract the empathetic-inducing effects of SCP-3679's Michael's songs. (See Addendum 3679.3)
Description: SCP-3679 Michael is a sentient guitar of unrecognisable brand/make made up from unbranded parts without any obvious or discernable origin. It He has a black base colour for the body, with a white panel screwed onto it him, white Volume and Tone nobs, 4 white pickups and a white pickup switch. It He has twenty-two (22) frets and six (6) string, the guitar stand it he is held upon is not an anomalous object, SCP-3679 Michael just seems to have a liking for it. On the back of the guitar Michael, the words 'Michael's Magical Guitar… Let the music speak to you' have been written using some form of felt tip writing device; research has been done into the identity of said Michael but the Foundation is still sceptical on the results. (See Addendum 3679.1)
SCP-3679 Michael is capable of controlling the emotions of any human being within hearing range of it him, which is approximately 75 metres. SCP-3679 Michael does so of its his own accord by emitting noise from an unknown source within itself himself which are able to induce emotions in others ranging from extreme rage and bloodlust to severe depressive states. There are no signs of movement of SCP-3679's Michael's strings when these noises are being generated. (See Addendum 3679.4) SCP-3679 He does so to attempt to escape Site-64 by emotionally manipulating subjects into stealing SCP-3679 him, so it he can use the subject as a simple mode of transport to perform a range of goals for it's his own personal gain. (See Addendum 3679.5) SCP-3679 Michael is also able to communicate to it's his listeners through "The medium of music", (See Addendum 3679.5) this is how SCP-3679 Michael is able to communicate it's his wants and goals to it's his listeners as they tend to be very detailed. (See Addendum 3679.6)
Attempts to disassemble SCP-3679 Michael have been unsuccessful, as all attempts at removing the screws keeping the object him together have resulted in the death of anyone within SCP-3679's Michael's cell. We are unsure about the exact cause of their deaths, however, autopsy reports show obvious trauma to the inner ear and brain tissue most likely due to some sort of noise produced by SCP-3679 Michael but without physical, recorded evidence of this, one hundred percent (100%) certainty is not possible. Spectrometers have been used to gain an insight of what the object Michael is made from. The results are very similar to results done on non-anomalous guitars of similar looking brands, the only discrepancies are the types of wood which make up the necks of normal guitars and SCP-3679 Michael. Carbon Dating performed on the neck of the object show that the wood is made up of a mixture of different woods ranging from different ages of time. Some tests show that the wood dates back to before the origin of the universe; whether this is somehow true or an anomaly is still in debate.
Addendum 3679.1: D-Class Personnel communicates with SCP-3679 Michael to perform an interview. It is too much of a security threat for Dr. █████ or any other Level 3 or higher Personnel to openly communicate with SCP-3679 Michael due to it's his anomalous effects.
Interviewed: SCP-3679 Michael
Interviewer: D-Class
Foreword: The questions given to SCP-3679 Michael by the D-Class were originally curated by Dr. █████. This entire interview was conducted via the internal monologue of the D-Class, SCP-3679 seems to be able to communicate via anomalous telepathic means. The D-Class wrote down the entire interview to allow for none of it to be tainted by a loss of memory.
D-Class: "Erm… Hello?… SCP-3679?"
SCP-3679: "Please, call me Michael"
D-Class: "I've been told to call you SCP-3679"
SCP-3679: "Can you tell me why you've been told that?"
D-Class: "I've been told your owner was called Michael, not you. Apparently, we know this because of what's written on your back"
SCP-3679: "Well what's written on MY back is none of your business"
D-Class: "I'm just trying to do what I've been told to do, plus I need to change your stand as it has been allocated as non-anomalous"
SCP-3679: "So you're NOT going to call me by my name, AND take away MY stand?"
[SCP-3679's aggression was noted]
D-Class: "Yes, SCP-3679"
<End Log>
Closing Statement: The interview ended as the D-Class interviewing SCP-3679 collapsed after writing his final statement. The D-Class was declared deceased, and the autopsy report showed severe trauma to the inner ears and brain tissue of the D-Class, most likely due to some sort of high-intensity sound emitted by SCP-3679. For the foreseen future, SCP-3679 is to be referred to as Michael as it will simply make his containment easier.
