Humanoid.
Standard 1.8m Caucasian humanoid anomaly.
On palm of left hand, symbol is present.
Symbol is visual cognitohazard which grants brief reality-bending to the humanoid when someone views it, allowing the humanoid to kill the viewer in any way it chooses. (maybe random?)
Cognitohazard does not affect you if you have seen it in another medium any time before the most recent viewing, eg a photo or drawing of it.
Symbol changes occasionally.
Period between symbol change reduces in size when humanoid is not given the opportunity to kill.
SCPs therefore involve giving it D-Class? Need to consider more of this.
Original SCPs involved locking a glove to its left hand. Resulted in blackboxed casualties when glove was removed for testing, revealing that the symbol had changed. Solved with MTF Eta-10 'See No Evil' making use of camera-screen headsets.
Revised SCPs use cameras throughout the subject's cell, eliminating all possible blind spots, so that the camera operators can notify staff of any symbol changes and provide the inoculation frame of video to staff.
Testing log, first just testing it with a D-Class, then a D-Class who's seen a drawing of it, then a D-Class who's seen a photo of it, then a D-Class that has seen a frame of a video of it, then a D-Class looking through glass, then a D-Class looking through a mirror.
version 1 determined to be too focused on cognitohazard, rather than humanoid. rewrite incoming.
Humanoid.
Standard 1.8m Caucasian humanoid anomaly.
On palm of left hand, symbol is present.
Symbol is visual cognitohazard which causes almost instantaneous death to the viewer by a variety of (intentional? random?) methods.
Cognitohazard does not affect you if you have seen it in another medium any time before the most recent viewing, eg a photo or drawing of it.
Symbol changes occasionally.
Period between symbol change is about a month, turns out it changes based on how many of the cognitohazard there are. Eventually it's nonstop polymorphic.
Original SCPs involved locking a glove to its left hand. Resulted in blackboxed casualties when glove was removed for testing, revealing that the symbol had changed. Solved with MTF Eta-10 'See No Evil' making use of camera-screen headsets.
Following breach, containment was reestablished with the glove. Blackboxed researcher suggests neutralisation by amputation of left hand. SCP neutralised for a period of time.
Cognitohazard returned on right hand after days. Cognitohazard appeared on subject's cheek a few days after that. Cognitohazard continues to propogate over target's skin, requiring staff to be inoculated on a regular basis. Cognitohazards begin to earn their polymorphic diagnosis, making them more effort than they're worth to contain. Same researcher has the bright idea to hide the cognitohazards with a straitjacket. Cognitohazards begin propagating over nearby surfaces, ironically making containment easier by painting the surfaces regularly - cognitohazard begins inscribing itself by decaying the paint?
During unrelated breach, 8% of Site-blackboxed's surface area has become covered with propagating cognitohazards by the time containment reestablished. Same researcher decides to shoot the SCP out of frustration. Humanoid dies, cognitohazard continues to propagate.
Estimated that failed containment would result in loss of site after blackboxed days due to exponential propagation.
needs a rewrite to make it clearer
humanoid has cognitohazard on left hand, contained by locking a glove to his hand. researcher suggests neutralisation by amputation. hand is amputated.
works for a few days, then symbol appears on right hand. contained by locking a glove to hand. researcher suggests second amputation, denied. researcher suggests coma, approved. scp kept comatose.
works for a few days, cognitohazard starts appearing on rest of body. scp locked in a straitjacket.
during breach event thought to be caused by the researcher, scp is shot. cognitohazards briefly become nonlethal. cognitohazards begin spreading to nearby surfaces, growth rate discovered to be exponential after a second, unrelated breach results in 8% of site-blackboxed's surfaces being covered in cognitohazards. walls replaced, final iteration of scp added.
cognitohazard nonlethal if it's viewed indirectly (such as through a camera or in a reflection).
initially they believe cognitohazard grants reality-bending to humanoid, later revealed that it just generates an anomalous event localised to the viewer.

Object Class: Safe Euclid
Special Containment Procedures:SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a standard humanoid containment cell 6m x 6m x 3m. An opaque, latex glove is to be secured to the subject's left hand with a locked metal wristband to prevent removal by the subject. The cell is to be monitored at all times through a camera in the South-Eastern corner of the room. All personnel working at Site-██ must be inoculated against SCP-XXXX-1 using an image taken during SCP-XXXX's capture.
Discontinued following Incident XXXX/a.
Introduced following Incident XXXX/a.
SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a standard humanoid containment cell 6m x 6m x 3m at Site-██. Cameras are to be located in each corner of the room to ensure there are no blind spots and monitored at all times. One (1) hour of footage is to be recorded at all times, with footage from past one (1) hour deleted. Protocol Zayin-13 is to be enacted once per month, in the event of an SCP-XXXX-1 differentiation event, or in the event of a breach.
In the event that Protocol Zayin-13 is enacted, the last hour of footage from SCP-XXXX's cell is to be reviewed, and a frame located that clearly displays SCP-XXXX-1. This frame is to be extracted, used to inoculate all personnel with security clearance Level-2 or higher, and archived.
Once per month, one (1) D-Class personnel (not inoculated against SCP-XXXX-1) is to be introduced to SCP-XXXX's cell. The D-Class' remains are to be removed from the cell by personnel inoculated against SCP-XXXX-1.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a human male of Caucasian appearance. It is 1.91m in height, and weighs 95kg. Aside from its interactions with SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2, the SCP-XXXX is otherwise non-anomalous.
SCP-XXXX-1 refers to a polymorphic visual cognitohazard present on the palm of SCP-XXXX's left hand. Upon being viewed for the first time by a human (hereafter referred to as SCP-XXXX-2), SCP-XXXX-1 grants SCP-XXXX brief (estimated to last approximately 1 second) reality-bending capabilities. These capabilities are limited in that they only extend to SCP-XXXX-2, and only allow SCP-XXXX to kill them. Causes of death vary, but never affect the environment beyond SCP-XXXX-2 (see Experiment Log XXXX/b). SCP-XXXX's continued survival despite exposure to SCP-XXXX-1 suggests either that it is immune, or that its usage SCP-XXXX-1 is voluntary, most likely the former.
SCP-XXXX-1 has an additional limitation: if SCP-XXXX-1 has been seen in any medium that is not SCP-XXXX's hand, viewing SCP-XXXX-1 does not result in the viewer becoming an SCP-XXXX-2 instance. For example, Protocol Zayin-13 allows personnel to be inoculated against the cognitohazard by viewing it in a still image extracted from a camera feed.
SCP-XXXX-1 will at varying intervals undergo a differentiation event, changing the symbol displayed on SCP-XXXX's hand, whilst retaining the same effect (hence its polymorphic designation). Due to this change, a viewer inoculated against a previous iteration of SCP-XXXX-1 loses immunity. These differentiation events increase in frequency (ranging from 1 every month to 1 every 4 minutes) when SCP-XXXX is unable to interact with an SCP-XXXX-2 instance. Following extensive testing, it has been determined that 1 interaction per month will limit the frequency of differentiation events to 1 per month.
On 19/02/████, during routine testing of SCP-XXXX, a breach occurred resulting in the loss of 23 personnel. Containment was reestablished by MTF Eta-10 ("See No Evil"), and a review of the incident was ordered by the Site Director.
Following a review of security footage, it was discovered that SCP-XXXX-1 had undergone a previously unprecedented differentiation event, rendering the site personnel's inoculations ineffective. As a result, containment procedures were revised and Protocol Zayin-13 was developed. Additionally, SCP-XXXX was upgraded from Safe to Euclid.
My analysis has concluded that revising current containment procedures to include giving SCP-XXXX monthly access to an SCP-XXXX-2 instance will reduce the frequency of differentiation events by a significant margin at an acceptable cost to the Foundation. With luck, this will reduce both the likelihood of a breach, and the casualties should one occur, in the future. - Junior Researcher ███████

Experiment Log XXXX/b
16/11/████
Test: Effects of SCP-XXXX-1 on a viewer.
Result: Agent ██████ viewed SCP-XXXX-1, becoming an SCP-XXXX-2 instance. Subject experienced full-body transformation at the atomic level, resulting in the Agent becoming glass.
Notes: Occurred during initial containment of SCP-XXXX, did not occur under standard testing conditions.16/11/████
Test: Effects of SCP-XXXX-1 on a viewer observing through a camera feed.
Result: Agent █████ viewed SCP-XXXX-1 through a camera feed. Subject did not become an SCP-XXXX-2 instance, instead becoming immune to SCP-XXXX-1's cognitohazardous effects.
Notes: Occurred during initial containment of SCP-XXXX, did not occur under standard testing conditions.04/12/████
Test: Effects of SCP-XXXX-1 on a viewer observing through glass.
Result: D-████ exposed to SCP-XXXX-1 through an observation window. Subject became an SCP-XXXX-2 instance and collapsed, expiring within ten seconds. Autopsy revealed the subject's heart had turned to stone.08/01/████
Test: Effects on a viewer observing a drawing of SCP-XXXX-1.
Result: D-████ exposed to a drawing of SCP-XXXX-1 created by D-████, who was inoculated prior to the experiment. Subject did not become an SCP-XXXX-2 instance. Following exposure, subject was demonstrated to be immune to SCP-XXXX-1's cognitohazardous effects.08/01/████
Test: Effects on a viewer observing a drawing of SCP-XXXX-1.
Result: D-████ exposed to a drawing of SCP-XXXX-1 created by D-████, who was inoculated prior to the experiment. Subject did not become an SCP-XXXX-2 instance. Following exposure, subject was then exposed to SCP-XXXX-1, becoming an SCP-XXXX-2 instance. Subject collapsed, expiring instantaneously. Autopsy revealed subject had suffered total organ failure.
Notes: Drawing was noticeably cruder than in the previous experiment, suggesting that there is a 'threshold' beyond which the drawing is not accurate enough to the real cognitohazard to provide immunity. Testing to locate this threshold is not advised.19/02/████
Test: Effects on a viewer observing an imitation of SCP-XXXX-1 created using an image processing program.
Results: D-████, inoculated prior to the experiment, created an imitation of the cognitohazard in the image processing program █████████ using cropped images of other subjects. D-████ was exposed to the imitation and did not become an SCP-XXXX-2 instance. Subject was then exposed to SCP-XXXX-1, resulting in a containment breach.
Notes: SCP-XXXX-1 had undergone a differentiation event between this test and the last, unknown to researchers. As a result, removal of SCP-XXXX's glove allowed it to breach containment, causing 23 fatalities.Following Incident XXXX/a, testing has been suspended until further notice.

SCP-XXXX is a Caucasian human male standing 1.93m and weighing 97kg. On the palm of SCP-XXXX's left hand is a visual cognitohazard comprised of scar tissue, hereafter designated SCP-XXXX-1. When SCP-XXXX-1 is viewed by a human (hereafter designated SCP-XXXX-2), SCP-XXXX is granted brief (estimated to last approximately 1 second) reality-bending capabilities that extend only to SCP-XXXX-2, allowing SCP-XXXX to terminate SCP-XXXX-2. SCP-XXXX's continued survival despite viewing SCP-XXXX-1 suggests that it is either immune, or that the use of its reality-bending is voluntary. These reality-bending capabilities are limited in that they cannot affect individuals or the environment except SCP-XXXX-2 (even indirectly). For example, during SCP-XXXX's initial containment, Agent ███████ viewed SCP-XXXX-1 and burned to death; Agent ████, present at the time, reported that the flames gave off no heat.
Following the recent breach at Site-██ and the number of casualties caused by SCP-XXXX's brief escape, I am suggesting neutralisation. I see no reason why we can't just amputate its hand and send it on its way, so to speak. - Lead Researcher ███████

If the use of SCP-XXXX-1 is voluntary, then, as interviews indicate, I suggest another neutralisation attempt: securing it in a straitjacket and sticking it with enough morphine to put it in a coma. SCP-XXXX is a Caucasian human male standing 1.93m and weighing 97kg. Its skin hosts 2 3 7 14 a number of visual cognitohazards, hereafter referred to as SCP-XXXX-1. Aside from its interactions with SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2, SCP-XXXX is otherwise non-anomalous.
SCP-XXXX-1 refers to 2 3 7 14 a number of visual cognitohazards present on SCP-XXXX's skin. Initially, SCP-XXXX-1 was only present on the palm of SCP-XXXX's left hand, but following Incidents N-XXXX/a and N-XXXX/b, SCP-XXXX-1 now exists across an estimated 70% of SCP-XXXX's skin.
When SCP-XXXX-1 is viewed by a human (hereafter designated SCP-XXXX-2), SCP-XXXX-2 briefly (estimated to last 1 second) becomes the focal point for an anomalous event. This event terminates SCP-XXXX-2, but only extends to SCP-XXXX-2, and does not affect the environment (even indirectly) For example, during SCP-XXXX's initial containment, Agent ███████ viewed SCP-XXXX-1 and burned to death; Agent ████, present at the time, reported that the flames gave off no heat. SCP-XXXX-1's effects are varied and seem to follow no known pattern besides the termination of SCP-XXXX-2, which occurs in 100% of cases.

SCP-XXXX is the corpse of a Caucasian human male, standing 1.93m and weighing 97kg. SCP-XXXX is the focal point of an anomalous effect: surfaces within 1m 2m 5m of it act as hosts for a polymorphic visual cognitohazard, hereafter referred to as SCP-XXXX-1.

SCP-XXXX-1 will develop on a surface over an approximately 6-14 hour time period. The variation in this time depends on the surface's colour and material, but the process is not impeded by distance or objects being in the way. SCP-XXXX-1 develops on a surface via several observed methods depending on a surfaces colour and material. In the vast majority of materials, SCP-XXXX-1 will inscribe itself into the material over the course of about 10 hours. In a minority of materials, SCP-XXXX-1 will develop through a different method, taking between 12-14 hours. The latter cases are exclusively fabrics and bound pigments (for example, paper, clothing, or paint), and SCP-XXXX-1 will typically develop by methods unique to the material.
To use the previous examples: in paper, ink develops, already bound to the paper, eventually drawing SCP-XXXX-1; in clothing, individual fibres change their pigmentation, eventually forming SCP-XXXX-1; in paint, the pigmentation changes, eventually showing SCP-XXXX-1 as though it had been painted on as another layer.
SCP-XXXX-1 inscribes most quickly in darker coloured materials, hypothesised to be because inscription is more contrasted in such materials. Conversely, in minority materials it changes pigmentation most quickly in lighter coloured materials, hypothesised to be because darker pigments are more visible on lighter backgrounds.
SCP-XXXX-1 is only lethal when fully developed; a half-complete inscription can be viewed safely, with no anomalous side effects.

SCP-XXXX is the designation given to a Caucasian male human cadaver. The cadaver has had its left hand amputated. It is 1.93m tall, and weighs 97kg. SCP-XXXX has not begun decaying, despite having been deceased for █ months. The cadaver is the focal point of an anomalous effect with a radius of approximately 1m 2m 5m, within which a number of polymorphic visual cognitohazards (hereafter designated SCP-XXXX-1) will develop.
SCP-XXXX-1 instances will develop on any surface within SCP-XXXX's radius over the course of approximately 14 hours. To date, all instances have been inscribed, as though carved into the material, with the sole exception of fabrics, which instead act as though dyed in the shape of an SCP-XXXX-1 instance. Until the instance has completely developed it is nonlethal, after which, when viewed by a human (hereafter referred to as SCP-XXXX-2), SCP-XXXX-1 instances cause termination via an anomalous event. SCP-XXXX-2 is the focal point of the event and the only thing affected by it. SCP-XXXX-1's events do not affect the environment or individuals aside from SCP-XXXX-2: for example, during initial containment efforts, a civilian viewed an SCP-XXXX-1 instance and became an SCP-XXXX-2 instance, burning to death; Agent ████ reported that the flames gave off no heat, and did not spread.
It is possible to inoculate personnel against SCP-XXXX-1 via indirect viewing, such as through camera footage or a mirror. Viewing SCP-XXXX-1 instances through a transparent surface such as glass does not provide inoculation, and instead results in the viewer becoming an SCP-XXXX-2 instance. Viewing SCP-XXXX-1 instances after having seen them indirectly does not result in the viewer becoming an SCP-XXXX-2 instance.
This is no longer considered a feasible containment method, as all SCP-XXXX-1 instances following ██/██/████ (see: Incident B-XXXX-D) have become polymorphic, rapidly changing shape. Each new iteration of an SCP-XXXX-1 instance circumvents inoculation against the previous iteration, nullifying any efforts to provide long-term immunity. As of ██/██/████, no pattern or solution has been found.
On ██/██/████, neutralisation by way of amputation of the left hand was authorised by O5-█. Medical Officer ███████ carried out the procedure, which was completed without difficulty. Following a brief period of experimentation, the hand was determined to maintain its anomalous effects. It was disposed of via incineration. SCP-XXXX was reclassified as neutralised. It was to be detained for an additional 48 hours before amnestication and release; however, 7 hours after the operation, another SCP-XXXX-1 instance developed on the palm of its right hand. SCP-XXXX was reclassified as Euclid, and reintroduced to containment.
On ██/██/████, neutralisation by way of chemically induced coma was authorised by O5-█. Medical Officer ███████ carried out the procedure, which was completed without difficulty. Following a brief period of experimentation, SCP-XXXX-1 was determined to be non-lethal and had lost any anomalous effects. SCP-XXXX was reclassified as neutralised. SCP-XXXX was to be observed for another 48 hours before being committed to a comatose state indefinitely; however, 10 hours after the coma was induced, when a new shift of guards were introduced to the cell, SCP-XXXX-1 was determined to have regained its lethal effects. Lead Researcher ███████ deemed the coma at least partially useful to prevent attempts to breach containment, so containment procedures were enacted and SCP-XXXX was reclassified as Euclid.
On ██/██/████, during an originally unrelated containment breach, SCP-XXXX's cell door was damaged during recontainment efforts. After containment was reestablished and a Site-wide sweep of SCP objects took place, █ previously inoculated personnel were lost after entering SCP-XXXX's cell. Following a review of security camera footage, it was determined that a second SCP-XXXX-1 instance had developed on SCP-XXXX's right temple. Personnel inoculated against the second instance performed their assessment of SCP-XXXX's containment and reported that whilst the cell door would need repairs, the cell was otherwise undamaged. Containment procedures were updated to include a mask to conceal the second instance of SCP-XXXX-1. Approximately 6 hours after the procedures were updated, a shift-change resulted in a security camera operator noticing an additional, third SCP-XXXX-1 instance. Two additional instances were observed to develop over the next eighteen hours, leading to containment procedures being updated to include full-body coverings.
On ██/██/████, during a containment breach involving at least 1 Keter-class object, lockdown procedures were initiated across Site-██. Lockdown lasted an approximate 9 hours. Following deployment of MTF Eta-10 ("See No Evil"), containment was reestablished, and a Site-wide sweep of SCP objects took place. █ casualties occurred before intervention by MTF Eta-10 personnel identified the problem: SCP-XXXX-1 instances covered approximately 8% of Site-██'s interior surfaces (mostly within corridors and utility spaces around SCP-XXXX's containment cell). SCP-XXXX-1 was also determined to be polymorphic, requiring cameras to view, due to their rapid change in nature. After investigation by MTF Eta-10 personnel, an additional casualty, later identified as Lead Researcher ███████ was found. The corpse was holding a gun, and SCP-XXXX had been terminated. Autopsy revealed it had been terminated by gunshot wound a few hours before (that is, a few minutes after the lockdown began). All surfaces affected by SCP-XXXX-1 were repainted, and containment reestablished. Containment procedures were updated as a result to include removal of additional SCP-XXXX-1 instances by use of paint.
Following a series of tests and analysis, another aspect of SCP-XXXX and SCP-XXXX-1 has been identified: its growth rate and range changes. The change is based on two factors. Firstly, the more SCP-XXXX-1 instances are nearby - we estimate 1.5m - the faster new instances develop, and the more surface area it can cover. During the breach on ██/██/████ (see: Incident B-XXXX-D), the cognitohazard was estimated to have overtaken 8% of the facility over about 9 hours. Originally, this was unexplained, but our calculations based on the number of instances seem to match up, with one problem: the base rate of growth seemed slower. After some considerable headscratching and recalculation, we determined the other factor: time. Since the breach incident and SCP-XXXX's termination, we've realised that the rate of growth increases, slowly, with each passing day. By our estimates, the growth will be uncontrollable by ██/██/████. I'd suggest neutralisation, but that's what got us into this mess. We need more information on SCP-XXXX-1 before we try anything else. I've submitted a request to reclassify SCP-XXXX to Keter, given the nature of this discovery. - Lead Researcher ████

earth is the centre of the universe
universal expansion is increasing more rapidly than originally thought
misinformation disseminated to prevent discovery
expansion has overcome previously unknown fundamental force which was holding reality apart
fabric of space-time is tearing
from these rifts, anomalies arrive
these anomalies are very focused on earth? why?
maybe link rifts to life on earth (ie why there isn't life on other planets)
turns out 'known universe' is literally the universe, and only the portions of space of time within that range are real
currently empty.
