Special Containment Procedures: Extant SCP-XXXX-1 instances are currently contained in 8 provisional containment sites around the world. An area of exclusion - extending 350 meters in all directions from these sites - must be maintained and restricted from civilian access. Foundation personnel are not to come within 50 meters of any contained SCP-XXXX-1 instances. SCP-XXXX-1 must be prevented or discouraged from locomoting vertically, and from locomoting horizontally by more than 10 meters from their designated containment points.

All SCP-XXXX-Alpha events predicted by the WATCHDOG Program must be dealt with by way of Procedure XXXX-Delta. Unforseen SCP-XXXX-Alpha events are to be dealt with by way of Procedure XXXX-Epsilon. Mobile Task Forces and field agents stationed at Foundation sites close to dense population centers must be knowledgable on Procedure XXXX-Epsilon and have access to the resources necessary to carry it out if the need arises.

Exploratory testing of SCP-XXXX-2 is forbidden.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an anomalous disease. Persons and animals infected by SCP-XXXX (designated SCP-XXXX-1) are capable of moving through a 3-dimensional spatial manifold designated SCP-XXXX-2. An SCP-XXXX-1 instance's ability to locomote through SCP-XXXX-2 replaces their ability to locomote through standard physical space.

SCP-XXXX-2 is believed to partially intersect our reality as well as infinitely many other realities. These realities are considered to be "close" to our own, and as such have very minute differences from it. Due to the continuous range of spatial movement organisms possess, SCP-XXXX-1 instances will observe gradual and continuous changes in physical and metaphysical aspects of their surroundings as they move through SCP-XXXX-2 (and, by extension, along a line of continuum-many realities). From an outside perspective, SCP-XXXX-1 instances will appear to physically distort, and partially or entirely disappear from view.

As SCP-XXXX's effects do not extend to nonliving objects, audiovisual recording of SCP-XXXX-2 has thus far been impossible. Experimentation and testimonies of SCP-XXXX-1 instances have shown that, beyond basic properties, the exact nature of SCP-XXXX-2 varies from subject to subject.

No physical source of infection for SCP-XXXX has been identified; biological samples of SCP-XXXX-1 instances have shown no deviation from healthy, uninfected individuals. No method of curing SCP-XXXX has been discovered, save for expiration of the SCP-XXXX-1 instance; Cadavers of SCP-XXXX-1 instances show no anomalous effects. Proximity to SCP-XXXX-1 instances shows a marked risk of infection for uninfected individuals; The only other known vector of infection is an SCP-XXXX-Alpha event.

SCP-XXXX-Alpha designates events in which organisms in a proximal area are spontaneously infected by SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX-Alpha events have no known cause or external indication of occuring. The Foundation's WATCHDOG Program is capable of forecasting nearly all SCP-XXXX-Alpha events with a 93% degree of accuracy. Between 15 and 25 SCP-XXXX-Alpha events happen globally each year, although only 7.1% of these coincide with populated areas where an outbreak could ensue.

Foreword: Interview took place following Experiment-XXXX-3. Contact was established with D-XXXX-4 7 hours and 59 minutes after the start of the experiment (maybe this sentence doesn't belong here)

D: so should I start or…
S: yeah you can start
D: alright so uh… I guess I'll start from when the weird stuff started happening
so I started descending down the stairs; I was on the 2nd floor, where I am now. I started going down the building's stairwell, same way I first came up.
the changes started happening pretty quick; I first noticed the handrails on the stairs start to move away from me, then everything else started moving and shifting. like uh… The stairs on the opposite end, they started to (pauses) multiply, I guess; like it was the same length of stairs but the number of steps kept increasing, with their sizes getting smaller.
the stairs on the other side, that connected my side to the multiplying ones, it wasn't changing too much but the (brief pause) texture, I guess, the marble texture on the stairs, it was shifting and, like, slithering. I (interupted)
S: For the sake of brevity, could you leave out the small details? We can save those for the formal report later on.
D: Right; Sure. Uh, let's see (D-XXXX-4 pauses momentarily)
I was very careful taking my steps after that I saw all that; I hugged the railing as I was going down, but then it started to get jagged and sharp. I decided to sit down on the stairs and scoot on down instead, which worked fine until, like, half the stairs dissappeared and I fell on my ass a short bit. At this point I realized most of my clothes were gone. only weird, almost abstract pieces of cloth were covering me. the foundation logo on my jumpsuit had stretched out into a (interupted)
S: D-XXXX-4…
D: Right, sorry.
S: Please focus on explaining where you went, and any phenomenon that particularly stood out more than the rest.
D: Alright. (pause) So I finally got to the first floor. 3 of the apartment doors were open, as far as I could tell. One of the houses had one of its walls missing, and was just open to the outside, facing the wall of the next building over. The other building was acting weird though; It was changing size as I was getting closer to it. I could tell it was getting shorter, almost short enough to where I could see the top of the roof. It was also inching closer to the building I was in, which it eventually made contact with. The wooden floor and the stone or concrete from the building started almost melting into eachother. It looked surreal.
But anyways, by the time I reached the other building, its roof was only a few inches lower than me, So I stepped onto it and started walking. I was finally outside; I looked back and saw the whole wall on that side of the building was gone.

I slowly started to back off, making sure the hole wasn't growing towards me and that there weren't more holes opening up behind me. I started to make my way back to the apartment building; Decided i'd seen enough. I went slowly, hoping the ground beneath me wouldn't disappear; The hole behind me wasn't getting any closer, but other smaller holes were starting to open up in the middle of the street as I went along. (pause; D-XXXX-4 is heard drinking water)
So this is where some really freaky shit started to happen. The walls- the buildings started to move farther away from me. I tried to stick to them but they were getting away faster than I could approach them. I kept going; figured they'd eventually stop, but like (pause)
S: D-XXXX-4?
D: They just disappeared. I was suddenly greeted with the blue sky where I was looking at the buildings before. Actually I'm not even sure it was blue anymore. The buildings; They weren't getting farther, they were getting squished. I kept going in the same direction for a bit but they didn't come back. I looked around and more and more buildings around me were disappearing. There was almost nothing but the asphalt and concrete of the road around me, and the holes on the street; They… (pause) They'd joined up, gotten bigger; way bigger. I couldn't even see the other side. it was like standing at the edge of a cliff, and there was nothing but that same fucking pitch blackness down it.
(D-XXXX-4 pauses for several seconds; hastened breathing is audible from their end)
S: How did you get back?
D: I… (pause for several more seconds; D-XXXX-4 is heard drinking water and taking deep breaths)
S: Take your time. Continue when you're ready.
D: I started walking back, back the direction I was coming from. See, I was sure that things were gonna get more normal as I got closer to the apartment, to my "point zero" as you called it. When I started to see that's likely not true, I started panicking. I just sat there, for a while, maybe hours, thinking I was just fucked like the rest of the D's you sent in here. [+]
Eventually I had a thought though; I thought maybe it's like… This place, or I guess this "condition", is like one of those things where taking a different path takes you to a different place. I mean even if you, like, should logically arrive at the same destination, you end up somewhere else; "non-eculian", or something like that, I think is what it's called.
S: Non-Euclidean?
D: yeah, that's the word.
S: Interesting…
D: I thought about it for a while. It was starting to get dark, so, I decided I had nothing to lose and retraced my steps. Sure enough, my theory seemed correct and I started to make my way back faster and faster. The building I'd fallen off of was easy enough to climb back up, what with its features being squashed down. The rest of the way was straight-forward enough. I got back to this room, put on some fresh clothes, and called back.
S: Thank you D-XXXX-4; That'll be all for this interview.
