SCP-XXXX.
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained within a standard secure storage locker at Site-██. Access to SCP-XXXX requires Level 2 clearance and must be approved by the Site Director or designated personnel. Any experimentation involving SCP-XXXX must be conducted in a controlled environment with appropriate safety measures in place.
SCP-XXXX is to be handled with care to prevent accidental activation. Personnel interacting with SCP-XXXX are advised to wear protective gloves to minimize direct skin contact.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a traditional Native American dreamcatcher, measuring approximately 30 centimeters in diameter. It consists of a vibrant blue circular frame made of dried red willow wood, adorned with the feathers of an unknown animal, carved wooden beads and other decorative elements.
When hung above a sleeping subject's bed, SCP-XXXX becomes activated during the REM sleep state, functioning as a conduit for a subject's dreams. As the subject dreams, SCP-XXXX absorbs and contains the dream content, preventing it from manifesting fully within the dreamer's subconscious.
Dreams captured by SCP-XXXX are stored within the webbing of the dreamcatcher, appearing as new intricate patterns and symbols woven into the threads. Efforts to extract or manipulate dream content stored within SCP-XXXX have thus far been unsuccessful, suggesting the object possesses anomalous properties beyond simple dream storage. Research into SCP-XXXX's origins, capabilities, and potential applications is ongoing.
Though dreams cannot be removed, SCP-XXXX has the ability to selectively replay specific dreams stored within its webbing, allowing individuals to experience the captured dreams of any previous user upon activation. This process occurs when a subject touches a certain string of SCP-XXXX before sleeping ,though this process only occurs with SCP-XXXX above the subject's bed.
