Since the articles featured on the main page of the SCP Wiki are so prominently displayed, we as staff have created this page to explain our current policy for selecting these articles.
Featured Articles
An SCP article, Tale, and GoI format are selected at the start of each month to display on the main page for the entirety if that month. This selection is currently performed by members of mentor-mentee "Flight Team" reviewers who provide critique on articles.

Features are sometimes given out as contest prizes as well.
Reviewers' Spotlight
Four articles are selected each month to display in the Reviewer's Spotlight section of the main page, each for 1 week.
Each month, community members are encouraged to nominate reviewers from the mainsite forums, official Discord, and IRC chatrooms who have been both particularly helpful and active. Members of the Critique Team will then discuss the nominations, and select four prominent reviewers to choose the month’s Reviewers’ Spotlight front-page features.
Nominations and recommendations should be sent via wikidot message to Zyn (team captain of the Critique Team).
Artist Showcase
The art for the Artist Showcase are selected by the Art Comittee of the Community Outreach Team, and is displayed on both the main page and the Artwork Hub. If anyone is interested in joining the team, or has suggestions for artwork to nominate, please contact Jerden.
To encourage newer artists, we try to showcase people who haven't been featured before whenever possible. While we have featured some prolific artists more than once, we avoid doing so more than once per year. We usually feature art posted on artist or artwork pages, but we have also showcased art created for and posted on non-artwork pages.
If a contest or event for artwork is run on the wiki, we will generally showcase winning or notable entries at the start of the next month.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why are some articles selected by the person who wrote them?
Frontpage features are given out as a reward, to incentivise providing critique to other members of the site. The nominated person is allowed to choose to feature any article, including one of their own works.
Why are some articles selected by "Staff"?
If there are not enough nominations each month to fill all slots, a member of site staff can select an article to fill that space instead.
