An image of the infinite Costco warehouse
Item #: SCP-8938
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures:
The Southwest San Francisco Costco Warehouse is designated as Site-██ and has been sealed off by the SCP Foundation. Access is strictly limited to authorized expeditions and is monitored by armed security personnel and containment specialists to prevent unauthorized entry.
Description:
SCP-8938-1, "The Costco Warehouse," is a pocket dimension manifesting as an infinite Costco warehouse that extends endlessly in all directions. It contains multiple plots—distinct areas consisting of furniture, products, objects, and other items.
Shelves throughout SCP-8938-1 contain numerous unlabeled wooden boxes, which are typically empty but occasionally contain medical supplies.
SCP-8938-2 refers to warehouse employees who operate under the supervision of SCP-8938-3. Most SCP-8938-2 instances attempt to capture subjects and may kill them if they refuse compliance. However, SCP-8938-3 strictly prohibits assisting subjects and terminates any SCP-8938-2 that assist subjects in escaping.
SCP-8938-3 is responsible for overseeing SCP-8938-2 and ensuring complete compliance. SCP-8938-3 instances take an oath in front of SCP-8938-4, swearing to uphold the values of Costco. The contents of this oath remain unknown, as subjects claim they will be killed if they disclose any details.
SCP-8938-4 consists of Costco board members, often senior warehouse managers and captured Foundation personnel. These individuals gain reality-bending powers and immortality within SCP-8938-1. Many are granted the ability to escape, but are condemned if they choose to do so. Foundation personnel report they were not given this choice and escaped in complete secrecy.
SCP-8938-5 are senior board members classified as C-level officers. They can escape without condemnation, though further information about SCP-8938-5 remains limited.
SCP-8938-6 is the Chief Executive Officer and is the only role not held by individuals born as Costco warehouse employees. The CEO is not immortal and cannot escape SCP-8938-1. A new CEO is chosen upon the death of the previous one. The CEO develops an innate urge to kill escapees who return to SCP-8938-1.
Addendum:
SCP-8938 was discovered by a Senior Manager of Customer Service in the Service Quality Office at the Southwest San Francisco Costco Warehouse during a routine warehouse inspection. Upon its report, the SCP Foundation forcefully closed the warehouse and secured SCP-8938. Further information is unavailable to the majority of low-ranking Foundation personnel.
