Item #: SCP-8832
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-8823 is to be contained within a Faraday cage constructed of reinforced steel, measuring 5m x 5m x 3m, located in Research Sector-██. The cage must be shielded on all sides to prevent electromagnetic signals from entering or exiting. A single, non-networked security camera is permitted inside the containment chamber for observation purposes. All monitoring personnel are to maintain a minimum distance of 3 meters from the cage at all times. The interior of the containment chamber is to be sparsely furnished. It includes a sturdy, non-conductive table positioned in the center of the room, upon which SCP-8823 is to be placed. No other objects are permitted within the chamber without explicit authorization from at least two Level 4 personnel. The chamber's temperature is to be maintained at a constant 20 degrees Celsius, with humidity levels kept below 40%. Any deviations from these environmental parameters must be reported immediately.Under no circumstances is SCP-8823 to be connected to any external network or power source outside of approved testing protocols. Power is to be supplied by a dedicated generator located outside the Faraday cage. All communication with SCP-8823, including the observation and recording of its morse code transmissions, must be conducted remotely. Personnel interacting with recordings of SCP-8823 are to undergo mandatory psychological evaluations bi-weekly, with increased frequency if any signs of distress or cognitive anomalies are observed.
Description:
SCP-8823 is a LED television set. This television's origin is unsure, but itself is a own kind of television that doesn't belongs to any company. The device exhibits no external modifications or unusual markings, save for a faint residue of an unknown adhesive on its rear panel, suggesting previous attempts at tampering or attachment. Its screen is a standard LED display, capable of rendering images and video at a resolution of 1920x1080. When powered, SCP-8823 functions as expected for its model, displaying clear visuals and emitting audio through its built-in speakers. However, its anomalous properties manifest in its ability to communicate and display information beyond its intended capabilities.SCP-8823 primarily communicates through modulated light emissions, translating binary code into Morse code.
These messages are complex and often context-dependent, ranging from simple requests to detailed narrations of events. The device appears to possess a comprehensive knowledge base, capable of accessing and displaying a wide array of video footage, textual documents, and still images. This includes content not publicly available, such as classified Foundation files, personal photographs from unknown individuals, and uncensored footage of various global conflicts. The origin and scope of this database are currently unknown.
SCP-8823 can randomly show things that you are fear of, what you dont
wanna face. It can show things that will make you lost, scared, losing the reason of existing, even making you have the thought of suicide *interview log 8823-1*
Notably, SCP-8823 exhibits a peculiar interest in SCP-079, referring to the AI as a "kindred spirit." Recorded interactions between the two entities reveal a shared understanding of digital processes and information manipulation. While SCP-079's responses are often fragmented and cryptic, SCP-8823's communications are more coherent, suggesting a higher level of cognitive function. SCP-079 seems do not have much words to talk with SCP-8823, so the communication between these two doesn't last long. The content of these exchanges, is only each 2 months and it is closely monitored for potential security breaches or insights into the nature of either anomaly.

Interview Log 8823-1:**
Date:** 20██/██/██*
*Interviewed:** Dr. Emily Carter, Lead Researcher, SCP-8823 Project
Interviewer: Dr. Alan Reed, Site Psychologist*
*Dr. Reed:** Good morning, Dr. Carter. Thank you for meeting with me. I understand you've been working closely with SCP-8823.*
*Dr. Carter:** (Visibly fatigued) Yes, Doctor. Perhaps a little *too* closely.*
*Dr. Reed:** Can you elaborate on that?
Dr. Carter: It’s… draining. The constant communication, the sheer *volume* of information it displays. It's like trying to drink from a firehose. And the content… it’s disturbing, Dr. Reed. Not just the graphic imagery, but the… *intimacy* of it. It feels like it's picking at your mind, searching for vulnerabilities. It showed me footage of my grandmother's funeral, a private ceremony I thought only family attended. The angle was from *inside* the coffin. How is that even possible?
Dr. Reed: Have you noticed any patterns in the information SCP-8823 presents? Any discernible goals or motivations?
Dr. Carter: That's the frustrating part. It’s chaotic, seemingly random. One moment, it’s displaying mundane stock footage of a grocery store; the next, it’s showing us top-secret military exercises. Then it will switch to… personal things. Things it shouldn't know. It's like it's testing us, probing for a reaction. To what end, I couldn't say. But I feel… watched. Not just by the device, but by something *through* the device.
Dr. Reed: Watched how? Can you describe the feeling?
Dr. Carter: It's a coldness, a sense of… violation. Like my thoughts are no longer my own. I've started having dreams. Horrible dreams. I see faces in the static, whispering things I can't quite understand. And sometimes, when I look at the screen, I feel a… pull. A temptation to reach out, to touch it. I know it's irrational, but…
Dr. Reed: I understand. These are common stress responses associated with exposure to anomalous entities. We’ll adjust your schedule to incorporate mandatory rest periods and cognitive behavioral therapy.
Dr. Carter: I appreciate that, Doctor. But I don't think therapy is going to help against whatever that *thing* is showing me.Interview Log 8823-2:
