SCP-9615

Item #: SCP-9615

Object Class:Euclid/keter

Special Containment Procedures:

SCP-9615 is to be contained in a 3 m × 3 m × 3 m reinforced botanical containment chamber with minimal lighting (15–20 lux). The chamber must contain soil, moisture-controlled flooring, and an automated watering system.

Daily hydration is mandatory. All water delivery must be performed remotely.
Under no circumstances is personnel permitted to enter the chamber unless SCP-9615 is fully restrained.

Any direct interaction requires:

Two (2) armed security personnel
One (1) D-Class individual for physical tasks

Full protective gear and anti-tendril environmental suits

If SCP-9615 shows increased movement or attempts a breach, lighting is to be raised to maximum intensity to induce temporary paralysis

Description:

SCP-9615 is a 1.8 m tall humanoid organism composed entirely of plant matter, including vines, bark-like plating, and elongated tendrils capable of independent movement. Limbs are flexible and allow rapid directional changes and sudden bursts of speed.

SCP-9615 displays extreme aggression toward all living organisms, with preference toward human targets.

SCP-9615 can regenerate from gunfire, sharp trauma, and moderate fire exposure. It can withstand temperatures up to 134°F (56°C) before tissue degradation begins.

SCP-9615 spreads a parasitic infection via tendrils that penetrate the victim’s skin and wrap around neural and muscular structures.

Transformation timeline:

0–3 seconds: Loss of motor control

5–10 seconds: Skin becomes overgrown with plant matter

10–60 seconds: Full conversion into SCP-9615-1 instance

Victims remain partially conscious and experience extreme pain until the plant biomass fully replaces organic tissue. SCP-9615-1 instances are hostile and attempt to create further infections.

When neutralized, SCP-9615-1 bodies decay into desiccated plant matter, leaving behind skeletal remains with missing flesh, organs, and occasionally bone.

Discovery:

SCP-9615 was discovered in 2024 inside an abandoned garden house several kilometers from the nearest settlement. A hiker reported finding a human skeleton with dried blood inside the structure but was unable to contact authorities due to lack of cellular signal. The individual flagged down a passing vehicle, whose occupants assisted in reporting the incident.

Foundation monitoring teams intercepted the report and dispatched MTF Beta-7 (“Maz Hatters”) to investigate.

Upon entering the structure, the team located SCP-9615 in a dormant position attached to the ceiling. The entity dropped onto an operative, prompting immediate engagement. Initial gunfire proved ineffective due to SCP-9615’s agility and regenerative abilities.

During the struggle, SCP-9615 crashed through a section of the greenhouse roof, exposing itself to direct sunlight and entering a paralyzed state. MTF units used the opportunity to restrain and secure the entity.
