SCP-XXXX ‘Cry For Help’

DEPARTMENT OF SUB-SURFACE HYDRO-ACOUSTICS MEMORANDUM

Following recent anomalies detected within the localized acoustic sequences of SCP-XXXX, this directive serves as an immediate notice to all personnel assigned to Site-751. All further testing, audio decryption, or recovery deployments regarding SCP-XXXX-1 instances are indefinitely suspended by order of the O5 Council.

Any unauthorized attempts to access unshielded broadcast wells or manipulate telemetry files will result in immediate termination of clearance and administrative evaluation.

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX defies conventional physical containment. Instead, Mobile Task Force Iota-24 "Siren Song" is permanently stationed at Site-751, Greece, to monitor the region.

Figure 1: External structure of SCP-XXXX.

All naval vessels assigned to MTF Iota-24 must be equipped with localized acoustic dampening systems. Personnel deploying into the manifestation zone are required to wear tactical noise-canceling headsets. Neutralisation must be executed immediately by MTF Iota-24 upon visual confirmation of an SCP-XXXX instance.

Any civilian or Foundation personnel exposed to SCP-XXXX's unmitigated audio broadcast must be immediately detained, removed from the coastal zone, and evaluated for psychological instability.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a maritime vessel of high-visibility international orange pigmentation, structurally resembling a regional commercial fishing craft. SCP-XXXX instances possess no physical crew; however, manifestations occur exclusively within 22 kilometers of the coastline of the Greek island ████.

SCP-XXXX instances continuously emit auditory memetic hazards. This broadcast consists of overlapping, multi-layered human distress signals, weeping, and screaming. Subjects directly exposed to these acoustic disturbances enter a subconscious state and irresistible urge to submerge themselves in the nearest body of water until death occurs.

Addendum XXXX.1:
Date: █████ 2011
When the first recorded SCP-XXXX instance manifested, Foundation Researcher ████ was directly exposed to SCP-XXXX-1 via a surveillance feed. He was located far inland during the event, meaning he lacked the physical time required to travel to the coast before the instance demanifested.

Because the compulsion to submerge himself could not be fulfilled, the psychological effect became permanent. Researcher ████ claimed to hear constant wailing and screams in his ears even years after his initial exposure to SCP-XXXX-1.

Addendum XXXX.2:
Date: ████ 2017
Interviewer: Dr John
Interviewee: Dr ████

Dr John: Greetings, Doctor. How do you feel today?

Dr ████: The screaming. It never stops.

Dr John: SCP-XXXX has not manifested in 2 weeks. What screaming do you hear?

Dr ████: Its the screaming of many. It started out as just a few voices, but now there’s hundreds. Thousands even. Its horrifying.

Dr John: SCP-XXXX is a continent away for us. Does it get louder or quieter the further you go?

Dr ████: I don’t know.

Dr John: Thank you for your time Doctor.

Addendum XXXX.3: Exploration Log
Date: ████ 2017
(The following log is the audio recovered from the exploration log of SCP-XXXX-1.)

Dr John: D-7651, enter the SCP-XXXX-1.

D-7651: Yeah, no way.

Dr John: Compliance is mandatory per your contract.

D-7651: Alright. Fine.

(D-7651 enters SCP-XXXX-1)

Dr John: Describe your surroundings.

D-7651: There’s nothing here except some crates and jars.

Dr John: Open the crates.

(D-7651 opens the crates)

D-7651: There’s- *(D-7651 gasps and screams)*

Dr John: What? D-7651?

D-7651: There are humans in there, but they’re…. hollow.

Dr John: Hollow?

D-7651: Opened. There are no organs. No blood.

Dr John: Proceed to the next room.

D-7651: Uh, there are no other rooms.

Dr John: Structural sealing is imminent. Neutralise SCP-XXXX immediately.

D-7651: Huh? Hey! Why are you trapping me in! God damn it!

Dr John ordered MTF Iota-24 to neutralize SCP-XXXX-1. D-7651 was officially designated MIA and presumed terminated.

Addendum XXXX.4: Post-Exploration Analysis

Dr. John's Note: Following the conclusion of Exploration Log XXXX-1, imaging of SCP-XXXX-1's interior storage bay confirms a localized increase in structural mass.

The hollowed remains discovered inside the storage crates are now hypothesized to be the physical remnants of missing civilian sailors previously recorded within the manifestation zone. Genetic sampling remains impossible due to the total absence of biological tissue.

Audio recordings of the vessel's broadcast has detected a new frequency layered into the acoustic sequence. The new frequency has been positively identified as the voice of D-7651. Containment protocols remain unchanged.

Addendum XXXX.5:

To: Dr John, Site-751
From: Dr Jacob, Head Of The Department of Sub-Surface Hydro-Acoustics

John,
The SSHA have identified altered vocals from SCP-XXXX-1s. Whether this is irrelevant has not been determined, caution is advised.

By order of the O5 Council, no further testing is to be conducted upon SCP-XXXX-1s. Neutralise upon visual confirmation.

-Jacob

Dr John’s note: This is an outrage. We must conduct further testing on SCP-XXXX-1s. Think of what we could learn!

Addendum XXXX.6: Incident Report
Date: 2026-09-05
Location: Site-751, Office of Dr. John

Description: At 06:00 UTC, Dr. John failed to report for duty. Security personnel sent to his private quarters found the room locked from the inside and completely empty.

A review of surveillance footage from the hallway shows no one entering or exiting Dr. John's room after ████ the previous evening. Audio sensors did not pick up any harmful audio. Cameras did not detect any movement or sighting of Dr John.

Recovered Material: On his desk, security recovered Dr. John's personal audio headset. The earcups were heavily waterlogged with saltwater. Written on a scrap of paper next to the headset was a single handwritten line: ‘Where is it?’

Status: Dr. John's current whereabouts are unknown. His personal tracking chip flatlined at ████, exactly 3 kilometers off the coast. Per O5 directive, search operations have been denied.
