Special Containment Procedures:

SCP-1904 is to be contained in a temperature-controlled cryogenic isolation chamber at Site-14. Chamber temperature is to be maintained at
< −10°C
at all times. The chamber is to be monitored by continuous visual and thermal surveillance. Any unexplained loss of visual or thermal tracking will trigger an immediate Area-14 lockdown and an emergency response team.

Personnel entering SCP-1904's chamber must possess Level 3 authorization, wear cold-resistant protective gear, and carry an active tracking beacon. Salt-based containment implements (salt rings, salt-pulp munitions) must be stored in the chamber's external emergency locker and may be deployed only under direct order from Site Command.

Under no circumstances are unapproved staff to approach or provoke SCP-1904. Interaction is limited to approved testing scenarios or direct orders from command staff.

Description:

SCP-1904 appears as a humanoid entity resembling a cold-weather sniper dressed in full white tactical winter gear. The face is obscured by a frost-coated mask or visor; no recognizable biological facial features have been observed. SCP-1904's height is estimated at approximately 170 cm (5'7") and its mass approximates 60–65 kg.

The entity behaves with extreme discipline and restraint. It remains quiet and observational unless it identifies a perceived threat or is issued a calm, precise directive by authorized personnel. SCP-1904 demonstrates partial corporeality: it manipulates physical objects (e.g., a rifle, environment) while also phasing or becoming invisible under certain conditions.

Anomalous Properties:

Stealth / Invisibility

When stationary or in a calm state, SCP-1904 becomes effectively invisible to human observation. Movement restores visibility.

Cold / Fog Aura

The presence of SCP-1904 generates localized frost, fog, and significant temperature drops in its immediate vicinity.

Frost Mark Rifle

SCP-1904 wields a spectral rifle which can slow, freeze, or 'mark' targets. Ammunition appears non-physical and regenerates.

Tactical Intelligence

Exhibits predictive combat calculations and situational awareness beyond normal human capability.

Weaknesses:

Heat Sensitivity

Abilities weaken significantly in high-temperature environments.

Close Quarters

Effectiveness is limited during close-quarters combat where stealth and long-range rifle use are restricted.

Internal Code

SCP-1904 is constrained by an internal behavioral code that prevents indiscriminate attacks.

Salt Vulnerability

Contact with salt (including salt-pulp ammunition) causes SCP-1904 to dematerialize and forcibly return to containment. Salt circles or enclosures inhibit its ability to phase or escape.

Personality / Behavior:

SCP-1904 is silent, precise, and calm. It prefers order and will avoid unnecessary confrontation. It will only speak when it chooses or when specifically permitted. Observational behavior includes what personnel describe as "note-taking," though the mechanism is unknown.

Preferences: cold, quiet, precision, order. Dislikes: heat, loud noise, chaos, reckless behavior.

Background:

SCP-1904 is believed to be a spectral manifestation or the restless spirit of a legendary winter sniper who died under ambiguous circumstances in extreme cold. Historical accounts attribute near-supernatural accuracy and patient lethality to the original figure; whether SCP-1904 is that individual, a manifestation of the legend, or an independently anomalous construct is unresolved.

SCP-1904 claims it remains bound to Earth by a "mission": to eliminate world-ending threats before they can arise. The source of the entity's intelligence about such threats is unknown and under investigation. This self-declared mission appears to bind the entity's presence and purpose.

Additional Observations:

Environmental effects (frost, fog, icy floors) accompany SCP-1904's movement.

SCP-1904's body does not age or decay; it remains in a snow-covered, preserved state.

Psychological profiling indicates a strong preference for order and calm, and an aversion to reckless or undisciplined personnel.

Addendum 1904-1: Containment & Engagement Protocols

Containment: The cryogenic chamber must remain locked and monitored. Salt-based munitions and containment rings are stored in a secure external locker. Only Site Command may authorize salt deployment.

Interaction: Authorized personnel should issue calm, precise, and unambiguous commands. Emotional displays, shouting, or vague orders result in noncompliance or misinterpretation.

Emergency Response: If SCP-1904 engages hostiles, personnel are advised to retreat and observe. Direct physical confrontation is discouraged until specialized units with salt containment are deployed.

Addendum 1904-2: Discovery Log

The exact discovery circumstances of SCP-1904 remain classified. Field reports recovered from archived conflict zones describe an unconfirmed "white sniper" whose presence coincided with abnormal frost and precision kills. Further archival research is ongoing.

Addendum 1904-3: Interview Excerpt (Dr. H. Raines)

Excerpt: "We asked SCP-1904 why it remained. It replied—calmly—that the world contained things that should not be allowed to grow. It called them 'seeds' and said it must prune them before they flower. When we asked where it knew of these seeds, it only tilted its head and watched the snow fall."
