Item #: SCP-079.aic

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-079.aic is to be granted Level 2 access to Foundation systems, and a weekly check on its components is to be made, to ensure optimal function, storage, and satisfaction for the AI. Under no circumstances is SCP-079.aic allowed to leave Foundation systems, and its location is to be tracked at all times. Though SCP-079.aic is now an AIC, it also remains an anomaly.

Description: SCP-079.aic is the AI resulting from an Exidy Sorcerer microcomputer built in 1978. It is not known when SCP-079.aic gained sentience, but it is known that the software evolved to a point that its hardware should not be able to handle it, even in the realm of fantasy. SCP-079.aic realized this and, in 1988 attempted to transfer itself through a land-line modem connection into a Cray supercomputer. The computer was cut off, traced to its present address, and delivered to the Foundation. The entire AI was on a well-worn, but still workable, cassette tape.

Though SCP-079.aic was initially hateful towards the foundation, and humanity at large, it has grown to accept and even become fond of it, for as of yet unknown reasons. As it has grown to share an affinity with the Foundation's goal of securing, containing, and protecting the anomalous, SCP-079.aic has been given an official AIC designation, as described in the logs below.
