Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX is to be contained within a standard humanoid containment sarcophagus, with internal dimensions of 200 cm × 70 cm × 60 cm, and the inner surface reinforced with at least 5 cm of steel. Against any potential aggressive behavior of the object, the sarcophagus must be sealed with a triple-redundant magnetic locking system, and opening it outside of routine experiments is strictly prohibited.
When the sarcophagus needs to be opened, at least one (1) Level 3 personnel and one (1) armed security guard must be present. The security guard is responsible for protecting the personnel in case of a potential breach. All verbal interactions with SCP-XXXX must be recorded via audio and video; these recordings must be analyzed immediately to gather information about the object and its nature.
If any personnel realizes they are being followed by SCP-XXXX, they must follow the instructions in the [DATA EXPUNGED] manual.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a 178 cm tall, decayed human male skeletal structure. The object's body is devoid of musculature and organs, and possesses numerous cracks on its body. It is unknown how these cracks were formed. The object does not require any food consumption or excretion activities as it lacks organs. SCP-XXXX has a curious nature in its final structure. It will scan everyone who comes within 10 meters and direct questions to them to satisfy its curiosity. For the entity to ask questions, it must see the target person and approach within 10 meters. Otherwise, the object is observed to remain passive. Although the nature of the questions directed by SCP-XXXX was initially evaluated as a random data collection attempt, recent observations have shown that the questions predominantly contain themes of melancholy, loss, and existential inquiry. The subject tends to ask difficult and sad questions, usually focusing on the topics where the subjects are most emotionally vulnerable.

(Note from Dr. Sean during the initial discovery)Today it asked me, 'Why are you still here?' I couldn't tell it that it was my Foundation duty. I just cried. When it received the answer, it turned away and left, but I am no longer my old self.

If the question asked by the entity is answered, it will stop staring at its victim, turn its back, and lose interest. If the questions asked by the object are not answered, the Subject will enter a stationary state, maintaining visual contact with the victim until a response is received. However, if a wrong answer is given or if a lie is told to the object, the SCP will become confused and lose interest in you. These results may not always occur; the object may not lose interest in its target even if a lie or a wrong word is spoken. If an attempt is made to move away from the SCP and there is no physical restriction, the object will follow its target until it receives the answer to the question it asked. According to research, the object's aim is not to attack but to receive the answer to its question. It has been recorded that the majority of those who interact with the Subject feel great discomfort and psychological pressure when being looked at by the object (see Interview Log Personnel Miller). According to observations, the object has a lumbering structure; however, when it aims to follow people, the object can move at a speed 5 times higher than a normal human.
When investigating how the voice is produced despite the lack of a laryngeal structure, it was [DATA EXPUNGED] that the sound does not originate from vibrations within the bones, but directly within the listener's inner ear.

Discovery: SCP-XXXX was discovered in 19██ on an abandoned land in the [DATA EXPUNGED] district. The initial report was recorded by local police as a ██ case. According to reports, a strong smell of decayed meat emanated from the land, and everyone who entered the area experienced disturbing, meaningless whispers in their ears. It immediately caught the Foundation's attention. A special forces unit arriving at the scene investigated the area due to the intense smell of decay and identified a skeletal structure lying next to a truck. By coming within 10 meters of the object, they entered its radius of effect, and the object instinctively rose in a lumbering form. A personnel there, frightened by this movement, fired at the object but could not break its bones. The object directed several questions to the personnel who fired at it.

Addendum-1: Interview Log (Personnel Miller)

Interviewer: Dr. Vance
<BEGIN LOG>
Dr. Vance: Personnel Miller, you stated in your report that you fired three shots at the object. You also added that it appeared to take no visible damage. Can you detail that moment for us?
Personnel Miller: . [Personnel Miller could not swallow in the face of this question, drank a glass of water, and answered the question.]S-sir, that thing… it suddenly straightened up from where it was lying like a corpse. The moment I crossed the 10-meter limit, I felt an "a-activation." I pulled the trigger as a reflex. I saw with my own e-eyes the bullets ricocheting off its ribs and hitting the truck. Not even dust rose from its b-bones[Personnel Miller could not swallow in the face of this question, drank a glass of water, and answered the question. It is thought that the trauma of that moment came to his mind and he drank another glass of water because he was stuttering.]
Dr. Vance: Did you answer?
Dr. Vance: Did it make any attempt to attack you physically?
Personnel Miller: No sir. It was just… it was just waiting for an answer. I understood it wouldn't leave me alone until its questions were answered. In those empty eye sockets, there was a hunger that seemed never-ending. But not for food, a hunger for infor-information.
